goin to take it out and bump it up to about 18 degrees timing now then just do a power run to see what it’s making and see how it behaves to 17 and 19 degrees

it very well may want 20 or 21 degrees timing in it as its only got 14psi but it’s making huge power for that boost level

don’t know what the most power produced from a Holden block with 14psi is but I would say I’m up there with them

    yep

iv got a hose with bend to manifold that Iv tryed as well

I know it causes pressure or some shit but here I am all fine

i remember back on 98 fuel days I tryed a few different things for keeping it cool and I remember the 3mm hole in thermostat  helped it and that nipple blocked off must of been better as well other wise I would have the little hose on that I have in the shed for it

So pulled the heads off and got the gaskets all changed

just st a stupid amount of work to do but it’s all done now, every cyilender had blowen out slightly

Couple pics of showing some random blow out parts, I match ported the heads to Intake manifold as they where out by around 1.5mm each side but didn’t do the exhaust ports as I’m getting a old head and want to port that and see where the water jackets are first

can see in the last pic just how much damage the pipes have done to the chassis rails even though there Hpc coated

will paint that again one day and put some heat shield there but couldn’t be stuffed at the moment lol

anyway ay it’s all back together so just look at a pic from the previous page as it still looks the same lol

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/131908616317

never used one or had one but aparently these ones with this new mosfet power supply or what ever it is are ment to be pretty good

well new compared to the old modules made in the 90s, they been out for a few years now and ment to last a long time as well unlike the other unreliable items

When the intake ports are out from head to manifold by about 2 mm and exhaust ports on heads are square and extractors are round I’m guessing it’s not great

Got arp head studs 12 point nuts

    And cometic mls gaskets 0.040

    <span style=”line-height: 1.5;”> </span>

<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Changing them because a while back i had 1 of the heads off just before changing to e85 and could see one was starting to blow out so now im onto changing them before we really screw power out of it </span>

Would of been 18psi and 98 with what we think is a bit to much timing from last tuner, but it seamed to be ok but i want to be sure

Also goin to do a tiny bit of match porting i know it needs while im there

when I own a drag car it will not be registered, it will be a drag car

this manta is a street car, if I ever get a defect or it gets me into to much trouble I would pull motor and chuck a basic ls combo in it and take this motor and sell blower, manifold, Intercooled and so on and use that money to fund a injected 8/71 on it and put it into something very very light for a drag car

untill then mental street car life

will get back down the strip again soon

If I can do a 10.9 in manual with 4:11 on what is essentially street tyres I would be over the moon lol

i dont see it happening though, with the old v2 blower manual was great fun, now though it is starting to become a hand full to drive fast

maybe be I can fluke it on a pass some time hopefully lol

    140-145mph

if I set it up for drags with tall tyres and th400 and a 5000rpm stally I have no doubt 140+ would happen

with me shifting from 2nd to 3rd on the brink of traction I for see 130mph

    Cheers people

it does look much better now with these wheels,  stuff 20 inch rims, personally I think the 18 look heaps better with tyre to rim proportion

Will be good to see what mph I can get now as I can get a lot more power down with these

Few pics of how it sits these days

glad photos dont show all my imperfections lol, there is a few of them lol

looking back through, yeah Gary we spoke about how tolerances are pretty poor in cars, even today cars can be wicked out of square sometimes, and may speak to you more about the centre caps soon to

cars running good, got a new set of head gaskets coming soon along with head studs in preparation of a few more degrees timing coming up soon as we where always concerned about its old tune on 98 so thought better be safe then sorry

see If a dirty old Holden built in a shed can crack 500rwkw

    Hi buddy

I have a water methanol system on my car, I have never actually used it yet but I do plan on it soon

when I was getting myn I asked on SC forum back in the days and the guy with the 1200rwhp VX wagon told me about his system

its ts from states and called acohole injection systems

you can google that and find them but must call them at like 7am here to catch them at 4pm the day before  there so no good calling on Monday morning

they are top of the line products and better then that is the guy, think his name is Rodney is very very knowledge able on how to set up the system

i have a blowen 355 and with my HP, boost, CI, rpm and air temps he determined that I needed 2 by 8 gallon a hour @100psi  nozzles at 8-10 inches from throttle and to set my pump to around 170psi for my set up

for or turbo set ups depending on air temps he may suggest a small nozzle direct into turbo or before the cooler and another nozzle before throttle body or what ever he suggest

I need to contact them again as my system has now changed and I plan on running 100% meth purely for racing purposes  as I have efi live so I can have a tune with out it and racing time I can just upload meth injection tune then just upload normal tune and turn it off

the pump and boot mounted tank look very high quality, they will supply any list of parts you want for your system, can have low level alarm, I have a progressive to boost system or can get a normal on off system

    great company to deal with

Well took it for a drive last night, the car goes hard as

so hard that a 3rd to 4th gear change at 7000rpm caused my rear view mirror to snapped off and landed between the passenger seat and centre console lid  where my passenger got it

I didn’t even know it broke off till he said why is this mirror here lol

You couldn’t find anywhere to say it’s a issue because no one has been silly enough to even think they would fit

It does a bit yes but moving the passenger side for a hour I could not get it to match the drivers side lol

even measuring from back door to rim on both sides it’s different by about 5mm
