Hi buddy
i made that table a couple years back, I also made the cupboard in the back ground and heaps of other stuff as well
and no don’t live on a boat and yes it’s cork floors and are great, They don’t hurt your feet, I love on the beach so carpet is no good at all and cork is awesome
as for the pump yeah it’s a good idea for people running decent power and don’t want a serge tank but It might suck the swirl pot dry not sure
I used 2 fuel tank bulk head fittings and run them through the tank
April 24, 2015 at 6:54 pm #5559Not describing a camery more a cammed ls1,2 or 3 or a LSA with basic mods or any engine with basic mods, even the engine he has right now is 100% streetable, or a bolt on wripple blowen LS engine or even a blower just bolted on a basic 304 all meet them regulations
a 600hp N/A holden engine I’ll let use decide that your selfs how 100% street friendly it is
i think we (I) should stop hijacking fli355 thread I’m sure everyone knows what I mean and what narva 2010 and other mean by our personal experiences in our cars and others we personally known that have these sorts of engines
He said earlier he is after a nice 400rwhp engine and that level I do believe Tony knight could build that with hydrolic cam and e85 not a problem, personally i would use alloy heads to as that will make it easier to do and will be nice to drive as his toy
either way way it’s a beautiful car and sounds like nice stuff comin for it
April 24, 2015 at 5:42 pm #5539100%?Street friendly is something you could deal with every day in all traffic conditions on 40 degree days and not worrie about it in the slightest way and not get pulled over and if you do the cops don’t blink a eye at it and defected it because of it’s noise or illegal stuff
could jump in after 2000km of no service and happily drive from QLD to VIC and go to drags and turn around and go back then do a service so some day soon when you get around to it
like what he has right now
Who would agree something similar along these lines is 100% street friendly ?
i would say something that requires regular spark plug changes, your peaking out about doin a oil changes after 2-3k km and contemplate sticking it on a trailer to go inter state or 400km away is a street machine that can be driven on the road but is not 100% street friendly it’s just street usable and iffy if the cops pull you over
dont get me wrong here I’m not doubting 600hp can be done , I know it can, iv seen it heaps of times and have friends with them but my point was he was told could build a 600hp engine to be 100% street friendly and with hydrolic cam
what are your honest thoughts on that ????
all iv said is it’s requires big solid roller cam, loud engines ,bigger then off the shelve pipes, in a vn-vs usually 7500 rpm and alloy heads are a great idea at level of either COME or like cava said dash-9 and it’s not 100% street friendly like he would have now it’s is street user able but defects are always a Radom breath test away
Please dont think I’m trying to deter him or anything, please do build a monster engine for this, like he says it’s not his daily it’s toy and as always I support him 100% and would like to follow his build <span style=”background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);”>To </span>
look at my thread I’m the last person to say don’t build a rediculious engine
April 24, 2015 at 4:58 pm #5536Yeah I see LS engines usually upgrade the trunnions anyway so it’s a good thing no matter what and not very expensive
Your rockers would have roller bearing on top of valves wouldn’t they ??
good stuff on the engineer report to
April 24, 2015 at 4:08 pm #5526Does your lsx run a factory type rockers ??
Though lsx would of used decent rockers with decent trunnions with them ??
And are the valve springs to suit a new cam or your existing cam ??
April 24, 2015 at 9:45 am #5512Yeah will be good to see it come along and either way you have good engine builders your dealing with so will be good
Dont think i was having a go or anything, i just wanted to make sure you know whats involved in making power and not be miss lead to mad numbers coming so easly from N/A holden engines
Manulas great to, keep it, i have 600 rwhp in a blowen 355 with t56 with 4:11 gears and its great fun
April 24, 2015 at 7:00 am #5499Yeah it really is solid cam territory
Cast heads and solid cam can do it but im sure even cava will agree if you want this power its a smart idea to use come 600 series heads as well
Some will do it with cast to prove a point but a smart engine builder making the best combo to work in harmony with each part will strongly suggest 600 series heads after about 530 hp and this same level is when custom 1 7/8 pipes or 2 inch pipes are also needed as they dont make any
Anything after 450 hp will not be friendly any more even this will be cranky, its been around for 40 years and this has been proved time and time again
This is why COME make the engine you have to be a friendly combernation to use all day every day and every combernation you step up in power you loose more lower rpm and loose morr street drive ability
By the time you get to 600 hp you have a out right drag engine that will need a 5000rpm stall for a drag run or it will not be on the cams power range and this is in no way street usable day in day out
If 600hp street friendly engine could be done then both come and pavtek would build them and they would call it a street strip engine and not a pure race engine
April 23, 2015 at 9:18 pm #5454Show me a holden engine that’s made 600hp with a hydrolic cam and cast heads on e85
April 23, 2015 at 8:20 pm #5446manta – TK says he can build me a 600hp e85 motor with a hydraulic cam that can be driven around on the street no problems.
ok buddy this is absolute crap and if you believe it your just as silly
At 600hp your talking come alloy heads extensively worked in the $5k price tag
13:0.1 comp
a solid cam in the 260-268 range with 0.600+ lift with a rpm range of 4500-8000
a vac pump and evey thing port matched and extensively worked to work in perfection
your cast crank will probley snap after a while, some of the best H beam rod and forged pistons breaching on the custom made end of the market
paying someone to do this will be a $20+k plus adventure and your GRPA manifold might not do it (I dont know that part but I’m guessing it has limit somewhere)
your talking hi rise torque power and 2000cfm throttle body out the bonnet territory
You carnt just magically make a holden engine 600hp and user friendly
i have a mate with a 600hp holden engine and know what’s envolved in doin so and it’s not a walk In The park
i have had a blowen 355 engine with 7psi make 600hp engine and 500 at the treads and even that’s not easy to do
please don’t take offence to this I’m just been honest

April 23, 2015 at 8:08 pm #5445I’d like an all day every day 400rwhp.
^^^ right there is where you said you wanted a all day every day driver
April 23, 2015 at 8:02 pm #5442good advice bloke, theres a bit to it,especially if car see corners or gets turned inside out. good for a bit of a chin wag got a laugh out of reactions too,i gotta sit back for a while after i type stuff,,haha also later stuff with them cradles that drop in look good. anyone measured one of them walbro’s,diameter,VS got a 60mm hole in tank,i’m trying to keep a fairly stock look, for the man really, haha
here is what I did to myn
it’s a walbro 460 custom attached to the factory sender
must note in not using a factory tank, myn is a custom made alloy tank that just has a heap of baffles in it
It just and I mean just fits into my tank witch has the same size hole as a factory tank as I took the measurment and had that piece laser cut
i had had to cut 5mm off the pipe where hose connects to and that made it fit perfectly, had to cut the bottom rubber to fit the walbro pump nicer and used submersible hose

April 23, 2015 at 7:49 pm #5439That is a nice solution
April 23, 2015 at 7:37 pm #5438I’ll be the one to say the only way to make 400rwhp in a all day every day driver car is with boost
making a holden based 500hp engine to be user friendly just isn’t possible
it will have a massive solid cam in the 250s range, it wont make any power till 3000rpm and keep on goin till 6800rpm
99% chance its goin to to rip your clutch to pieces
spring pressures at the hp are huge and solid lifters don’t last a life time, it produces mass heat and all round a 500hp holden engine will absolutly hate just driving the streets as a daily and will just want to hit rpm and just carnt do that on the streets and keep a licence at the same time
It’s verging on drag car engine in a street car and many people have said iv done it but they are really just trying to convince them selves they have done it because it’s not fun after a while exspecially in a manual
do boost of about 7-8psi and all of a sudden you have a friendly hydrolic cam something similar to how yours behaves now and is user friendly and is nice to deal with and has better street user rpm range
I know it sounds great having a cranky of it’s head engine, but on the street it really isnt and anyone with one will say the same
simple rebuild and blower or turbo if you want 400rwhp in a daily driver
April 23, 2015 at 5:16 pm #5432What gear box you got in this ??
Just be aware if you want power it will all become very expensive, if it’s a entry level come engine and you want a 500-550 hp nearly all of it will be useless beside the crank and a few pieces
how much are thinking of spending on it ??
and what heads are on it ??

April 23, 2015 at 5:07 pm #5431That brake
wow
April 23, 2015 at 3:34 pm #5422But now i see people bolting them up under parcel tray witch would work great
I also have a walbro 460 in tank
Im using a factory vs fuel sender
I just cut about 5mm of the pipe and it fitted between where the factory pumo sits and then i just welded a stainless hose clamp and that holds it in place
I also got some fuel tank fittings and mill spec wiring from efi hard ware and all works a treat
April 23, 2015 at 3:30 pm #5420Yeah i was having heat issues and iv got a custom drop tank and exhaust out each side and it would of been near muffler so changed to in boot set up
April 23, 2015 at 3:00 pm #5414The fuelab pumps are the same
There is just no way a single prodigy pump could supply 1800hp
And stuff fuelab anyway complete puss

April 23, 2015 at 2:57 pm #5413Yeah i agree with about 1000hp
Yanks have a weird way of rating pumps for hp
Almost like they free flow them and go will at no pressure it flows X amount of litres and that will support 1500hp so we will say that
But really only see that power at 20-30psi boost and that gives a 65-80 psi fuel pressure so has a effect on fuel pressure
I had paid for that serge you have but then i changed my mind and asked and changed order to a sp1200
Love my aftermarket industries serge tank
Stunning the build and design quality
April 23, 2015 at 12:36 pm #5402Not even close
Some 18s fit just with couple mm to spare
You got your harrops at a good price
