Holden vs ford
June 4, 2015 at 10:02 am #7473Cheers gary, i wont lie at first when i got about 2/3 i though i wasnt goin to be able to get them in and out but its worked out quite well and can get them in and out nicely
June 3, 2015 at 7:48 pm #7457Like this ??
Yes I googled it when I first received it lol, but the pipes do t fit in the merge very nicely either

thats it, no little quarter cuts for the internal parts of pipes or nothing
the pipes don’t fit in it nicely, and I have no idea how one would weld it up as when you put 4 pipes in it there is 5mm gaps every where
And here is the Aeroflot ones I got
June 3, 2015 at 7:13 pm #7449No they actually miss interrupted me and sent me a weird ass weld together collector that is hideous so I got a set of aeroflow slip on stainless collectors
they go from 2 3/4 to 3.5 inch
June 3, 2015 at 6:19 pm #7447Yeah the difference between little lengths and changes in 1st step length and stuff is all to fine a detail for me to be worried about, look at pacemaker pipes, cyilendar 1 is twice as long as cyilendar 7 to the first Y and that carnt be good
iv got the tapered collector witch in my books was a must but the rest is just what it is
looking at the pipes iv made and the pacemakers 5002 witch is the best pacemaker make for a VN-VS 5l is massive, you can easily see how much better myn will flow and I think that will make a measurable difference especially because I’m blower as well
if if they mad 1 7/8 pipes for my car I would of just brought them in the first place and I would not be doin this now and also if I had to pay someone to do this there is no way in the world I would do that either
because it’s cheap for me is the only reason I’m Doin this other wise it would simply cost to much
I carnt see some one making a set of these for any less then $3000
June 2, 2015 at 8:15 pm #7425I never heard of them, did a little reasherce a might help as I do have a big cam
when you line the pipes up its so close and is only like a 1mm step around the pipe so I didn’t worrie about making any cones of any sort
I have read that doin a step like I have and not a cone helps with scavenging but honestly it’s such a small amount that would change from this and with the power and torque I’m making I’ll never notice anyway
June 1, 2015 at 9:15 pm #7405Nar I haven’t at the moment
I just centred it up and welded them together
June 1, 2015 at 7:22 pm #7400Exactly cava, It doesn’t bother me if they are little longer shorter straighter or more curved Or it doesnt exactly match what a computer program says
but the info pirate put up on page 2 is absolutely awesome and thanks heaps as that did settle my decision on 1 7/8 for 8 inches and 2 inch rest of way as I was just taking a complete guess
I have no idea what the gains will be or weather it’s worth it, I’m betting only a hand full will say it is and most will say fuck that your mad taking on that job and the rest will just be completely confused at what I’m doin and why
if they made 1 7/8 pipes I would have just got them and been happy but in my oppion 1 3-4 is a little on the girls side even though people have made over 1000hp using them
i just think this will make the power more efficiently and work better for the combo I have
June 1, 2015 at 1:49 pm #7396The pipes above wont fit past my starter motor
And no way in the world would i fit something like that on drivers side
On passenger side all 4 pipes are above one another to get past starter motor and by there no.2 cyilender would be about 25 inches at a guess
Its just so tight in a VS and has to be after the steering rack for the collector to fit in a 4 into 1 design and these size pipes doesnt help much
June 1, 2015 at 8:42 am #7386Thats just how long i had to make them to get to where i can fit the collector
23 inches is above the steering rack
June 1, 2015 at 5:01 am #7384That’s to the start of the collector
then after that the collector is something like 10 inches maybe a tad more
May 31, 2015 at 2:38 pm #7369I think it would still be doable with power steering as 3 of the pipes go behind the steering arm witch is away from the hydrolic lnes and one 1 goes on out side and got a bit of room with that one and could get above the lines
I had a mate stay the weekend for drags and he has a VR with a 355 and has similar pipes to myn, 1 7/8 for 10 inches then 2 inch 4 into 1
he has a power steering rack but the main advantage is he has is a turbo 400 and half the bell housing isn’t there on them
I have a quick time bell housing for a t56 and its majorly in the way compared to a th400
either way way it’s a massive job and takes a long long time
May 30, 2015 at 10:31 pm #7360It is a massive sense of achievement that’s for sure
when I started I had a feeling it might get the better of me and at some stage my pipes would get jammed and stuck in there but some how I can get them in and out fearly easly
I to tried a few ways, I actually had pipes 5 and 7 mostly made but really didn’t like it and started again and has turned out much nicer and turns out if anyone else try’s this on the drivers side 3 pipes need to go behind steering arm and sump and 1 on out side of steering arm of your using 2 inch pipes anyway
May 30, 2015 at 10:12 pm #7356Thanks mate
I think 2 inches will make next to no difference at all as well
i just made them as close by eye while making them as its kind hard to measure something you haven’t made and turns out they are extremely close to each other
man it’s a tricky job, I was just stalking your page and your pipes look nice as and so does the rest of the car
May 30, 2015 at 9:39 pm #7352And also the pipes are
cyilendar 1, 3 and 7 are 42 inches long and cyilendar 5 is 40 inches
close enough I suppose
May 30, 2015 at 9:35 pm #7351Don’t worrie about the scrambled info Inbetween pics above, it’s something to do with Samsung and Apple devices playing havock with each other and copying and pasting the info from exhaust thread I have didn’t help either
so drivers side is all made up, just need to weld it all up now, all the pipes are extremly close to been the same length and all are 1 7/8 for 8 inches and then step up to 2 inch with a slip on merge collector at 3.5 inch
pipes 1, 3, and 7 are 42 inches long and 5 is 40 inches long
this was not easy, it was hard, very hard, it took me Something like 25+ hours to make this side up but I think I will do the next side a lot quicker now I have a good idea what I’m doin
