Senders in the headers ??
The 1/8 npt are for EGT
i only have 1 EGT sensor at the moment but I just put 1 in every cyilendar for the hell of it, 7 just get blocked off, I have it in cyilendar 4 at the moment
when I get second part of wide band comes a second EGT so will have one in each side
July 19, 2015 at 7:22 pm #8018So for the last post from me about the pipes is the finished results
pipes are coated in ceracoat HPC both inside and out and is ratted to 1200C
they are very simple in install but only because I know the order in witch they go in
July 19, 2015 at 7:05 pm #8017So I have been flat out with work lately and haven’t had time to even touch the car
I finally got to it today and fitted my pipes that have been sitting in the shed for a week and got the harness 90% in so it will be ready when the PCM turns up, here is a pic of when I got it out of box
and I know some of my welds around EGT sensors are crap lol you don’t need to tell me lol
July 14, 2015 at 9:49 pm #7984Yes will deffinetly be of good use to me
pm sent
July 4, 2015 at 7:49 pm #7897well that didn’t take long to build
looks good
June 21, 2015 at 7:46 pm #7727So harness is done and will be in the post this week
both sets of pipes are all welded up, no. 7 and 8 cyilenders pulled a bit so had to cut and re weld them to get them to line up
welded on 2 by O2 sensors to drivers side collector, 1 for PCM and wid band O2 and also welded on 1/8 NPT onto each cyilender 1 inch from head so EGT can go into any cyilender
got to weld all them onto passenger side as well then they are goin in for HPC coating next week
also split the fuel line and went into back of both rails and Y them back together before reg as I’m starting to push to much power for a looped fuel rail set up
also got inside plastics finished off the other week, crappy pic as its dirty but you get the gist of it
just need a igniter from EFI hard ware to convert positive low voltage spark trigger to a negative high voltage trigger fitted up and 2 plugs to fit before I fit glove box again
June 15, 2015 at 1:44 pm #7640Is it one of them cross 6 utes or something is it ??
June 14, 2015 at 5:04 pm #7631Arrr I didn’t know that was AWD as well
good on you, that must be a effort to convert that
June 13, 2015 at 8:13 pm #7624Wait what the!!
You have a tonner that’s all wheel drive ??
What model ??
June 11, 2015 at 8:27 pm #7606Are yours only come in and out with engine.
I was looking at pic of yours thinking how on earth do they come in and out in 1 piece
but really once there in who pulls them out, the main thing is the steering rack and starter can come out with them in and it’s all sweet
I carnt put myn in with engine and frame any more, I had the pacemakers fitted last time I dropped and refitted engine and it’s makes life easy pulling motor box out underneath with them fitted
June 11, 2015 at 7:58 pm #7602Yeah I would expect to pay around $4G for a set custom made by someone, if it come in at $3500 I would be really surprised and I wouldnt at all be surprised if it went to $4500 and would expect another $400+ On top for HPC
your set look amazing IJ you did a really nice job
June 11, 2015 at 6:23 pm #7597Total cost of material was $650 for the diffilipno stuff and $400 for collectors and will be another $400 for HPC witch iv found a place local to me that uses cerakote Heat barrier product that will be black
iv got a few parts I don’t need, such as a bit of 3 inch pipe and them weld on collectors and a few left over 2 inch flanges, but I used every single bend I had from diffilipno
I know another person Who brought a set second hand that are very similar and are 1 7/8 for first 10 inches then 2 inch 4 into 1 and they suposdly cost $3500+ to build new and sold for $1500 years later and they haven’t been HPC coated
honestly I carnt see anyone building these and fully tig welding them for under $4g as the labour hours would be enormous
June 10, 2015 at 8:26 pm #7573Thanks people’s
It’s massively sign of relieve know I have actually done it, as the whole time it’s always a little daunting if it’s actually possible to fit 4 by 2 inch pipes past a high torque starter motor and around a steering rack, but it can be done, and it’s possible to make them all similar length as well and all with no real plan it was just go with the flow when I was making them
June 10, 2015 at 8:16 pm #7572Yes cava that is precisely the plan
justan is taking a little longer with the harness then I expected, it is 99% done but am awaiting a call to go over it 100% to ensure its all correct but that time is what comes with good workers with great products
1 thing I will modify is extending the 2 O2 sensors down the gear box harness and out to each collector so I don’t need any extensions
apart from that all my wiring under dash is sorted and finished, the gear surround and stereo surround is painted except I left it in the sun and it’s now got tiny bubbles from heat so needs a sand and paint again witch is minor
and last but most importantly I have found a e85 servo out where I work, so I’m grabbing 4 new 44gallon drums in the next week or 2 and filling them up here and running it on e85
should only be be a couple weeks till harness is here and extractors are HPC coated and final fitted then tune time on LS pcm
also I have a lap top now and just need to purchase EFI live
June 9, 2015 at 6:39 pm #7547Well doesnt look like to many are interested in me building my own extractors except those on the exhaust thread but anyway here is some pics of finished results, my brother in law is tig welding it all up for me
June 9, 2015 at 6:33 pm #7546All made up
brother in law is tig welding it up for me
so full exhaust on my v7 blowen 355 is 4 into 1 pipes that are 1 7/8 for 8 inches then 2 inch for total length of 40 inches with a slip on merge collector that is 2 3/4 inch then tappers to 3.5 inch and 3.5 inch Magna flow 100cpi cats and 3.5 inch pipes to 100 mm past second join flange then tapers down to 3 inch rest of way with custom merge for 12 inches with diffilipno mid mufflers and varex rear mufflers

June 7, 2015 at 8:45 pm #7510And drivers side for any that have missed it
June 7, 2015 at 8:39 pm #7509Done
June 7, 2015 at 2:25 pm #7503Passenger side is starting to come together
So now at this stage I know witch is longer and shorter so instead of just making them all take the quickest path to the collector I know cyilendar 6 (the top pipe) is the shortest so it will wrap around the rest and go in the collector at inner side bottom, and cyilendar 4 (second from bottom) is second shortest so it will also be the one to do the wrapping around to collector
cyilendars 1 and 8 (lowest and second from top) been the longest will take the quickest paths to collector
