car now runs a harrop 2650 blower, it hammers hard, torque is up there at 1850 nm, makes 630rwhp on 14 psi and 16 degrees timing in it, air temps are bit warm so goin to work on that, few things to tidy up like water lines and and few other bits and pieces, hopefully get to take it to the strip soon when it opens back up

Been a long time since I last posted, since then I have driven the car a heap, and then few months ago it under sent more surgery

it now is painted in a wild colour shifting paint that I did at home my self in a home made spray booth

Also with cars comes great fellow rev head mates, iv become good friends with tuners engine builders, drag racers and so on, one of who decided he would teach me how to build my engine, so out it come, tore down found caps where walking, almost sheared the key way and the rings where completly wrong for the set up, so it now has splayed 4 bolts, dual key way and In hendrys performance work shop over a few days i learnt all I could about bolting bottom ends together so now the only thing I haven’t done on this car is the internals of gear box and diff

also so I sold off the t56 Manual and it is now th400 with a 4000rpm stall

car will I’ll be fired up next week when I get tail shaft

Your running a LS pcm so why would you use a Davis craig controller for thermos ?

Just set it in the tuning program to where you want it to cut on and off

these simple things is why I brought Efi live my self, perfect example the other week my Monaro wouldn’t start properly and I knew my key was dodgie as

turned off the vats for a try in a matter of minutes and bam car was fine, got myself a new key then turned vats back on and was all sweet, also just after that when I swapped my 4:11 from manta into Monaro just a minute later and the speedo was fixed, both them problems at a mechanic / auto sparky would of cost me more then it was to buy efi live

fuel pumps can draw a shit load of amps so wouldn’t be suppressed if it blow, probley a good sign the system works, it’s been 3 years now hasn’t it ? Just keep a spare in the car

I had a 100 amp in line main fuse and twice it blow and both times while leppy was there tuning it with me, but the odd thing was car would be running then shut it down and go to start again and nothing, it blow while car was turned off for 5 minutes, never found out why but I changed the holder for it

yes the reg is boost reffenced at 1:1

pressure was at 50psi above manifold pressure so when cranking pumps it was 50psi, while ideling it’s around 42psi and watching it on dyno as soon as throttle is touched it goes to 50 and climbs with boost up to 63psi

    it maxed out around 430rwkw

we cranked it up to 55psi above manifold pressure so with boost it climbed to 68psi and maxed out at 468rwkw

they are indeed genuine Bosch injectors, part numbers match to other identical ev14 1000cc injectors

they are actually a 55lb injector Bosch then modify

look back a page or 2  and can see the flow amounts I posted a while back and we tested them all the way up to 80psi where they still flowed fine and extremely equal to each other and Gary who tested them said straight away when testing that there not fakes

I asked around and 2 other people both in blowen ls engines have maxed them out on e85 around the 440-460 rwkw mark from memory and there did not flow even close to 1000cc either

I believe most sellers have the info mixed up and there 1000cc at 4bar not 1000cc at 3 bar like advertised

I won’t be buying any injectors of eBay that’s for sure

Gary you sound be the best bloke in the world and pull your ID injectors out and get them flowed for me to see how there numbers compare to what is advertised

give you a drive if my car if your ever up this way if you do so

I would of expected Bosch flow rates to be accurate as well but they are way off, I was extremely supprised at how low they actually flowed and don’t know how they can be advertised as 1000cc when they are not even 80% of that

yeah I will keep searching, Thing is 1300cc  injector dynamics cost more then 2 arms and a leg and I don’t know of any other 1300cc injectors that even exist

and the bosch 1650cc ones are $210 each so $1680 a set of 8 witch is still pretty pricey especially when can get Bosch 2200cc ones for like $60-$80 each but don’t know what they will be like down low

I was goin injector dynamics till I seen 1300-1600 are $2000+

if i I can find someone with a set of the injector dynamics 1050x and flow them to see what they actually flow then I would get them at $1000 or so

I’m just having trust issues after my current 1000cc only flow 780 or so cc at 43.5 psi

if the ID do flow 1065cc at 43.5psi then they would suit me perfictly and I would have no problem paying $1100 or so for them but I’m having trouble believing any injectors advertised flow rate

and I’m a little with cava on can not justify the price difference

    Yeah Gary’s that’s exactly right

turns out it’s been nearly 5 years since I brought the clutch and it’s done around 4000km now

mal is looking for 8 or 10 point cushion button plate I can just throw into it witch will hold even more power then the old plate or I can just buy another organic plate $300 witch is cheap as

to me spending something like $2700+ on twin plate set up just isnt worth it at the moment when I have this solution for now, plus if I was to spend that type of money honestly I would probley look towards a 4l80e instead and sell my 6speed set up and I  just not ready for that yet

the car is halling ass at the moment that’s for sure

anyone got any suggestions on injectors in the 1300cc range and e85 compatible, preferably ev14 but doesn’t really matter, could change the plugs on loom if there Bosch style ?

I do totally agree but It’s more a cost thing a the moment

it’s coming into perfect driving weather and already up for $1800 for a set of injector dynamic injectors and dont have another $2500 o top of that for the clutch right now, plus the Monaro is getting a cam in a couple weeks as well so funds are getting hammered

so will take the cheaper option that will get me goin through the winter then later on when coin is flowing nicer again will look at options

plus will be doin some drags this winter and I will go all spooky of the line if I spend big dollars on a clutch where the cheaper just replace a clutch plate option I won’t care to much about it

twin plate will happen just not right now

A good twin plate will happen one day but for now I’m just goin to get a cerametalic plate for my current clutch

only $350-$400 for a plate and is rated to 450rwkw

my current clutch has been great rated at 400rwkw with a organic plate

yes Gary I will be takin it down the strip soon but don’t see my self even getting a 10 second pass in it been manual, if I set it up for strip year 9s fearly easy I wreckin

So got back into it this afternoon

have now fitted a new m80 diff with 3.7 gears and true trac and fitted my old m80 with 4.11 into my Monaro

Did a run and was 420 rwkw at around 6000rpm and fuel system on the limit

bumped up fuel pressure 5psi and still went around the 420rwkw but was breaking down top end

closed plug gaps from 1mm down to 0.8mm did a run and she instently jumped up to 468rwkw at 6500rpm and again on the limit of Fuel system and did this on 13.5 psi of boost and 16 degrees timing

a gain of 48rwkw simply by closing up the gap

anyway 100% certin I have maxed the injectors now and with power still on a upwards climb and should keep goin to 6800rpm we excepted defeat and am getting some bigger injectors

also fryed up the clutch doin a celebration 2nd gear burnout so up for a new clutch plate as well and will try the ceramic one over the organic as it’s rated to 450rwkw and not 400 like  the organic

My interia doesnt come out any more

exspecially the dash facia since I sica flexed it in after it fell out onto me at 7000rpm from a 2nd to 3rd gear change half way down the drag strip then this dam 3 tonne v8 patrol come past me because I’m trying to hold my dash up so it didn’t rip my mechanical oil pressure gauge out

should probley look at getting a new one some day soon but the sica is working great lol

    does anyone know if a 4l80e fits in a Vn-vs tunnel ?

Know in the VE they fit but not sure on earlier models
