Packed to the hilt, Coffs Harbour to Sydney (Pacific M1) on e85 averaged 8.5l/100k – best ever. 10.9¢ per km (rip-off $1.29/l at Coffs United). Previous fill was $1.03/l at Mackenzie Caltex.

So inside all but done other than the replacement section for the B&M shifter to mount onto, the old setup was a hacked up setup that was not very sealed and certainly not the most rigid. We are fairly confident that will no longer be an issue with the new section we’ve started to weld in but I hadn’t taken a photo of.

Update:
Turns out we had all sorts of trouble fitting the new engine in. The 4L60e if quite a bit fatter than the T700 so out it all came and took to the tunnel with a grinder…
After much discussion we decided instead of fabricating in a VR Commodore tunnel my mate had spare, we should try and modify the orinal tunnel and see what happens. The…[Read more]

Correct. Duration and lift and LSA stay the same, main impact on combustion is through calibration of the intake centre line.
While the other three valve events are phased in unison by the same amount, IVC is by far the most influential.

Another link explains the reason is not plenum volume nor throttle opening but the radius bars first implemented on the LS6 that help the air transition from the plenum to the runner.
