I didn’t do the loom in mine and wish I did. Bugs the shit out of me knowing there is redundant wires in there the guy just taped over. Slow and steady wins the race mate!!

Builds an AWD LS race car with pretty much everything custom and hand made and is surprised by the size of the project.  You crack me up

Whats is your plans with the lights etc, just fitting the standards back in or some sort of dummy panel?

Hi mate, trouble is there are so many variations of what we have done, to my knowledge none of us on here have gone 6L80, although if I was doing mine again I probably would have (mines a built glide).  I usually don’t like saying stuff I can’t back up, but I believe the 4l80e, is pretty much a 400, with overdrive, so longer.  The tunnel is quite long, so you will probably be OK.  Very keen to see how it goes though.  You building a streeter, will it be engineered?

Welcome mate sounds like a nice project.  Quite a few of us on here have done the LS swap, there’s my LSx454;  Cav is doing an LSa into VR;  IJ had a crazy Lexcan race car with AWD LS conversion, now going into a BMW at the next level.  Also a few 1st gens too, Frazers LSa, Vkgmh’s LS2 etc.

We are not the largest or most active Commodore forum but everyone on here is willing to share what we have learned and there are some very knowledgable people on here.

Look forward to following the build.

    Gary

Not sure about project bloat. Can’t see too much you have done that’s not making it faster or stronger?

Managed another day on it today, hopefully, the other projects should come to an end next weekend, then I can get stuck back into it.  Got the driver’s side B Pillar inner finished off, removed the joining strip to the old dogleg and got the new dogleg fitted.  Came up pretty nice.  Slow and steady wins the race getting it fit the best you can.  I used tek screws and started with it hard against the B Pillar then gradually worked forward using screws to hold it in place getting the gap and position right as I went.  Once I had it all welded it up.  Still a little bit to finish off around the A-pillar but it’s in, and happy with the result.

Been busy on other projects lately, but got a bit done yesterday.  Started off with a shed cleanout to get back to some sort of order.  Then spun it around on the hoist so I can get at the driver’s side front.  The first job is the inner closeout panel on the B Pillar.  Still need to do the funky top section.  Then will get stuck into the dogleg.
