Could the pump itself be on the way out?

Could be, it was new, but might be what the issue is.

Daily duties today in the Senator, the engine started ran like a dream.  A couple of gremlins to eventually sort though.  I ran the fuel pump control down a little manually and that’s sorted that.  So that’s just a simple case of mounting the rocker switch that toggles between the two settings up in the cabin.  That will do for now.  But the power steering pump started to get a little noisy just as I made it here.  Now I had several stops, heaps of traffic and a train, and it’s an hour’s journey, so probably a good test.  Not sure if it was just a little low on oil or I actually do have a little power steering cooler that I bought but just haven’t fitted it yet.  Funny it didn’t do it on the 2.5-hour drive to Wallaroo.  So maybe that goes on the list.  Then under very light throttle or lift-off, I can feel the slightest “squirminess” in the rear.  Not sure if maybe the cradle poly mounts are starting to flog out, not sure.  As soon as it’s loaded up under power its arrow straight. So again a bit of a look to see what that is.  But all in all super happy, all part of getting it fully sorted I think.

This is the first shed I have ever bought and not erected myself. Decided 18×6 was just too much. Looking at the quality so far have to say I think it was worth getting the pros to do it. And so much quicker than would have ever been.

Mine is in the glovebox.  I didn’t mount it as such.  I just wanted somewhere easy to get too, but I think down in the passenger kick panel is probably a better spot.

I generally get around 40kgs of dirt off the car after a wet race Cav, it’s more dirty as in grease and much on mechanical parts, oily filth..

And hence why we race bitumen :good:   :good:

but right up there is doing something then thinking of a better way as I finish…

I reckon that would be a pretty common theme among car builders…

The other thing I hate is working on exhausts, they are always dirty filthy things…

Yea I live in Gawler which is an hour north of Adelaide, so house prices are nothing like the city.  Suesy and I like to travel and I like cars (obviously!) so we decided to trade living in a funky expensive area for somewhere nice but less pricey.  Then we can spend $$ on what we both love.  So far so good ;-)

That looks huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge haha Giz a rundown of how you’re gonna sort it out…. couple of hoists, tool shop, spray booth, stripper pole, all the things a car nut needs

Its actually looks bigger in real life….

So this place is about 2 mins from my house.  At my house I have my decked out 9x6m workshop, with the lift, that’s where I built the Senator, etc.  My idea is that is where I will be building the current car, but that’s all.  The problem I have now is I need to drive the Senator out, then move the Kombi, for example, work on it, then at the end of the day move the Kombi, then put the Senator back in.  It’s a pita.

This is for storage of my little collection, so the Senator, VL, Kart Trailer, MG, Nash, etc.  But the end bay I am going to have a big TV, and deck it out a bit man Cavey.  Bathurst weekend, for example, I always have a boys BBQ, I am going to have it there.  So it’s not so much for working on cars, just storing them.  There is enough room to also have 4 other cars neatly stored outside, separate to this garage. Plus some really cool old school fruit trees.

My long term plan is one day we want to subdivide the block and build a nice two-story smallish house.  But where the whole bottom story is a nice big workshop, but with a massive man cave.  I want big ass movable walls so I can open it all up for parties etc.  Then the top story is a big nice outside deck and regular house if that makes sense.  Then we can sell where we are and put that money (less the build cost) into super.

That’s the grand master plan anyhow…
