Posts: 5 777Actually was just speaking to the tuner, his personal preference is Royal Purple or Redline. Can’t say I have ever used either. Given how good he has been to date, might try what he recommends.

Posts: 5 777Yea really the attachment upload is for just the occasional small pic. It was originally intended to be only for pdf and word documents, so say you had a pdf of a part of a workshop manual or something you could post it. Photobucket or similar is the way to go. This forum is heavy on pics, so if we were straight uploading, it would fill up and bog down pretty quickly.

Re the questions, mate ask away, that’s what this forums for, we all have to start somewhere. We will have zero tolerance for people that jump on other people for asking genuine questions

Posts: 5 777Reminds me of a discussion I was having on another fb page about a guy getting his SS painted (actually a member on here) and someone was saying why do it, the paint job was worth more than the car.
My reply was since when does a car enthusiast do it because its financially the thing to do. We do it because its fun, interesting, or you just want to play with stuff you might have around, and in the end create something that’s interesting to you

Posts: 5 777Do you reckon it sounds quieter now after the retune?
Tbh, what with the shed break in etc, I haven’t even really started it up. At the tuners it certainly sounded much much smoother, whether that translates to a dB reduction at 3,400 rpm I will see. I have borrowed my mates work dB meter so should know on the week end.
I wonder if ( / how well) this will fit in the tunnel?
Wow that’s porn!! One of the reasons I haven’t gone manual already is when I do I want it to be a bit out there. Not just a T56 or whatever. Something schmick and race orientated like that would be awesome Maybe floor mount pedals too etc etc.

Posts: 5 777Decided for now to go with the trans brake switch in the knob. Will be a nice easy set up to start with, will see how that goes and change it after if I want.
So on the week end aiming to give her a good clean, then redo the dB test to see where its sitting after the re-tune. Then need to make up a couple of brackets for the engine oil cooler and auto cooler braided lines, as the mechanic thinks how I have them the RTA wont like.
Nice to have it home again so i can play with it.
