Posts: 5 777So the idea then is to get the engine immediately onto where its making torque, then let it pull like that using the converter until the converter locks up, then it revs to maximum rpm (usually peak power) then change gears and repeat?
Makes sense if that the idea?

Posts: 5 777Also doesn’t hurt to use something like Inox to lube all the joints of the mechanism.

Posts: 5 777So pushed through the pain of my stuffed foot lol. Dropped the car off the hoist, took it out and measured the sound, it’s marginally over the 90dB but I can fit the cones I made up previously and I reckon I am there. Put it back up on the hoist, and had a good look around, everything looks spot on, not one drop of oil. Is it normal to sit just looking at the underside of your car? Anyhow, just need to change the way the main oil cooler line is currently cable tied to the sway bar, might make up a nice bracket for it. Will contact the engineer during the week about how the report is coming along. And of course decided to wash it, man it’s straight, then put a fresh new Disposable car cover over it and put it to bed

Posts: 5 777Roger that, finding spare time and money is the issue, especially when life starts taking over. Very nice base car to start with though, will be a beautiful cruiser. I love these early HSV’s, just have a touch of class I reckon
