Posts: 5 777Yep peak power is only a small piece of the puzzle, for a streeter anyway its all about the area under the curve.

Posts: 5 777Yep agreed, trouble is these days making a number is easy if you have a cheque book, drive in, pay cash, they fit supercharger, dyno, make huge HP, drive out. For me thinking it all through, working through the issues, doing the research, and actually doing as much as you can is where most of the fun is.

Posts: 5 777Yea agreed, tbh I don’t really buy car mags anymore, haven’t for a long time. I agree its so much more interesting reading about what some actual real guy is doing in their shed on their own car. I actually do like to see/watch shows about the guys in shops doing high end cars, but again for me its more about seeing how they do it, not what they do if that makes sense.

Posts: 5 777Thanks, yea one of the things on my to do list is to take the car and get it weighed. I reckon if I got mine to hook up as it sits now maybe low 11, hopefully when I have done head/cam/headers will push it into high 10’s, that would be enough for me. Definitely love to see a bit more of a thread started on your car mate, lots of us on here I’m sure would love to follow it. The idea behind this forum was real cars built or even just modified by regular guys. Nice car.

Posts: 5 777I guess anything could be done Cav but really that’s low on the priority list right now. Would be hard to make it nice and stealthy too, as the cable comes to the front on the engine. Could maybe get something that sat under the trumpets, but as i say other stuff I want to spend the time on first.

Posts: 5 777Btw mag looks bloody awesome, my grand master plan (one day if I have the chance) is an integrated Forum/Facebook Page/Website and Electronic Magazine that all work together and compliment each other. To me that hasn’t been done properly/successfully for the Commodore scene yet.

Posts: 5 777^always good to hear other peoples real world experiences. At the end of the day it (like so much about cars) comes down to personal taste/preference etc. First gens are quite a bit lighter than 2nd gens though, its a guess only, but what would you think your engine would run in a VR/S IRS rear, low 10’s?
