Whoever at GM decided that on a car with a windscreen the size of a VR Commodore that the window washer squirters could be the size of a Fiat Bambino was a moron. Thankfully they changed it in the VS though, sadly VS ones won’t fit a VR bonnet cut out though :(

thanks mate I imagine they are not cheap though? buy a set & ill buy your pacemakers ;)

Pity you cant wait or I would take you up on that. I did ask, from memory were around $2k but ceramic coated. Thats why i wanted to wait until someone else had given them a go to see how they fit ;)

i’d be at least keeping the block in the shed,if its an original numbered car.

100% agree with that, mine is under the bench in the shed, really they arent worth that much to sell, so you may as well keep it so you can go back to matching numbers if you ever want.

I realy think its an unwinnable argument, plenty of guys making big reliable power with the Holden based engine, plently of others doing the same with the LS.

Torque is the ultimate measure of efficiency, it’s bascially the size of the bang. It really comes down to capacity (bigger bang), better heads (more mixture = bigger bang) and volumetric efficiency (bigger bang from what you have got). So no reason at all that a 427ci “Holden V8” Will not make the same torque as an LS based block. But it’s so much more than that.

Hi mate, yep Gary’s the name, instigator of this forum of course with a lot of help from some other guys and gals. I just quickly read your build thread on the LS forum, seriously I just tip my hat to you, designing and fabricating your own race suspension system is just not even next level its three or 4, and looks like that’s just the start. Just brilliant what your doing, really looking forward to watching this progress further. Welcome.

Mate welcome, that is one hell of a spec list! If you get a chance even just throw up some random pics of the build so far, I am sure that will prompt some questions. Kudos for doing most of it yourself too, exactly what this forum is about. Cool as.

I am interested in “IJ Sub Frames & IJ/IRS Suspension” what have you done/got?

Decided to try and learn classical guitar, after 4 lessons, today I am finally able to play something that at least hints at sounding musical :)

I know the VH is different to my VR, but I went across the boot through a steel tube, then through a hole with a grommet behind the back seat, then along under the sill trim, then I had no room to go through the tunnel, so I actually went around the inside of the front guard inside a steel tube to the starter, worked out pretty neat and tidy.

So checked over everything, all the lights work, indicators all work, heater, wipers, window washers. Pretty much cant really think of anything else that needs to be done, so I think I am ready once I have the report to have a go at rego.

Also for the fun of it thought I would take a short video. So given the engines making around 650hp give or take, I think the fact that I can reach in through the drivers window, hit the key, no stab on the accelerator, nothing and it fires up pretty much first time and idles smooth as is pretty cool I reckon. No temperamental beast, just nice effortless torque and power :)
