Isn’t speed ratio easily adjusted in the ECU, or am i missing something?

Best “average” power wins on the street.

In mathematical terms “average power” is EXACTLY what “area under the curve is” :)

Wouldn’t be difficult to have one 3D laser scanned, little bit of tidying ip in CAD then printing it. Anyon eountthere have access to a laser scanner?

Huge amount of work to get it back, but its one part of the car I loved when I first sat in it. At the time a bit or Euro luxury :)

^ thats something I was thinking too, might as well take the car to someone and get a custom set made . No idea how much that would be though?

No I restored mine, all the details are in my build thread, down near the bottom of the first page. Came up a treat. They do come up from time to time on eBay etc.

Feel free to post a link to your other build thread buddy, we have no issues with linking to other sites and stuff. Of course would prefer you to be an exclusive CP member though… ha ha

Yea I scoured the local UPI for ages until finding a couple that worked still, although they look tired. Tried blowing my blocked ones out with compressed air but no joy. I do like the idea of coming up with some sort of VE style gizmo, surely couldn’t be that difficult.

The other change I notice when i got my first VS was how much wider and easier to use the rear vision mirror is. Its another one on the list one day to score one from a wrecker and fit it.

Funny I bought a manual one a couple of months back, so cool to use. I used it to do my new exhaust hangers as I didn’t want to weld to the body, so I used the nutserts and then welded up hangers to a plate and bolted them on. Cool tool :)

This is my interior, I hadn’t put the electric window switches back in though then, is that what you were after?

Hi mate they def had air bags. The Senator was based on the Berlina, so air bag, climate air, self leveling suspension, electric windows etc. The clubbies were based on the Exec, so were more basic. But just be aware, back in the VR days you could spec a lot of stuff different. I literally worked for two brothers who each bought VR Senators back in the day (that’s when I fell in love with them) and one ordered his with the rear wing, and one didn’t for example. So there can lots of small option changes.

This is the differences in the two steering wheels, I mean its a minor thing, but if you going to the trouble of restoring it would be nice to keep it correct.

Very neat, like the way you have done the adapter RHS tubes picking up on the original seat mount bolt holes. Are they nutserts for the seats into the RHS?

Very nice car as a base mate, been waiting to see this :) When I did mine I had perfect reproduction rear garnish “SENATOR” decals made up, also 185i as they are different to the VS which are much more blocky. The sign guy still has them on file and can make more I will pm you his contact details, I think he only wants $50 or so for them. Also looks like you don’t have the original steering wheel, if you are anal about originality there are subtle differences in the leather stitching on VR vs VS HSV’s, I have an image showing what you need if you want me to post it up? Nice car!

The only thing i found is it doesn’t recognize bullet points etc, but other than that it was pretty straight forward.

^^ actually come to think of it, if any members on here ends up buying one, let me know, I would be happy to donate some time doing 3D modelling, and would happily pay a small price to get bits made up. Could be a good thing for the forum.
