Posts: 5 777You get a lot of those kind of niggles to sort. Especially once you get used to it and start to be able to notice the little things. It’s all part of a big swap imo.

Posts: 5 777Couldn’t resist squeezing in an hour or two. Scored a donor door off Cooper that had the lower curved part. Interesting the height difference isn’t there, so the mod I had to do to the lower part I now have to make this part to suit. must be just natural variances in years etc. Also Cooper popped down, and as I suspected the inner frame is OK, but the door skin is past saving on this side, so will buy a new skin, but finish the resto of the frame. The passenger door though looks like its saveable which is great.

Posts: 5 777Yea I know, 60 years old and they were ever really built to last, more a work horse. I kinda think each bit I cut out and repair is one less piece of rust before the end

Posts: 5 777That’s me for the day, heading into the Fringe. Doing the doors, tricky little sucker to work on. Not sure if this door is really worth the effort but going to give it a crack. Haven’t sanded the welds etc, doing a bit of racing the next couple of weeks so not sure when I will get another crack at it.

Posts: 5 777^ that “rod” is kind of the idea I have for mine one day. Sort of a cross between a clubman type circuit car and a hot rod.

Posts: 5 777Hey Gary no nothing funky just bolts in as the right height is adjusted from the strut not the spring I think you have the same set up
Cool, I guess as long as its all 100mm off the ground who cares. As you know I am a fan of no bonnet mods, will be a super sleeper.

Posts: 5 777Looking great dude, same brakes as mine, they work great. Does lowering the K frame like that mean you have to do anything funky with the springs and shocks, or does it all just bolt up like normal?

Posts: 5 777Those cables are certainly toast (excuse the pun). Do you have any plans for venting the bonnet, given its a smaller engine bay?
