Posts: 5 777Thanks IJ, yea I am kicking myself a little, back when I bought my TIG I didn’t have the $$ to go for one that would do Ally. I don’t 3want a third welder… A mate runs an aluminium boat business and swears by them, might do some research. Another thing I need I think is a foot pedal for my TIG, do you have one or is on the torch?

Posts: 5 777How did you weld that IJ? I am looking at a MIG spool gun, or is that TIG?

Posts: 5 777Love that interior shot mate, very neat and purposeful. Should also make it way easier to troubleshoot if there are any gremlins.

Posts: 5 777How does that work IJ? I assumed the power feed goes up to it? Or it a cable operated gizmo?

Posts: 5 777We sure take modern cars for granted. Hot, cold, rain, shine whatever, hit the key and they start and purr. They also use no fuel and are incredibly reliable.

Posts: 5 777Cold starts are one of the most difficult areas of the map to tune as you really only get one go per 24 hour period, the factory does such a good job everyone takes it for granted…
Hadn’t thought of it that way, makes perfect sense. I guess too by the time you have changed the map, the engines warmed up a bit.

Posts: 5 777Hi Frazer, should maybe be able to, although I have it over at a secret squirrel location. while I do the Kombi. But as it turns out I thought its time to fire it up and take it for a drive. So had it on charge today. This is the first fire up for a few months, apologies the video is a little dark. But I think its a bit angry I have been ignoring it

Posts: 5 777That’s the section above the passenger side door done, what a pita, working above you head is never easy, especially welding etc. But pretty happy with the results. I think that’s the passenger side front pretty well done. So prob time to spend some time with the grinder and tidy everything up. Then its swap it around on the hoist and get stuck into the drivers side. Slow and steady wins the race!!

Posts: 5 777Lol. Thanks IJ. Seriously it’s a massive head scratch for me each time on how to tackle each part. At least with the floor I plan on using dynamat over it all so it won’t be seen anyways.

Posts: 5 777That’s the passenger side floor and wheel well done. Managed to salvage enough of the floor to make up a patch panel where someone in its life had attacked it with a machete!! Making a start on the repair above the door, man that’s a can of worms, but slow and steady wins the race.
