My car is a VH Commodore, mild 308 running a Holley 600DP carby, front squirters=28/rear squirters=32, power valve=6.5
1. My carby has straight booster rings, would there be benefit to changing to annular booster rings ?
2. Running an edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold, is a dual plan but is notched out, is there any benefit changing to the…[Read more]

My 308 Commodore runs a Holley 600 Double Pumper carby on-top of a Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold.
My carby specs are 28 front nozzle, 32 rear nozzle, 6.5 power valve, front/rear bowls are both adjusted for fuel to only slight weep out (thread level), brown cam on the number 1 slot, idle mixture screws are out 1 1/2 turns with a 1″ carby…[Read more]

Just tested all the bolts screwing down onto intake manifold and the rear bolts holes are not drilled down as much as the front ones ehiches explains why the rear carby is loose, strange surprised it only reared its ugly head now, time for some longer bolts for the rear but might still go studs for ease of lining up both gaskets, a base plate plus the carby.

Just started up the car again and the idle this time is erratic, up and down (all over the place)…yep definately a vacuum leak and I bet the rear carby bolts are culprit !!!

Hi, grr, took my holley carby off my edelbrock intake manifold for a clean.
Put the carby back on…first fire up once it goes fine…its was idling but i could hear a ringing type noise from the engine bay…im thinking this may be a vacuum leak as both the rear bolts holding the carby down are loose/stripped…my big mistake
I have…[Read more]

I now realise that solex locks do nothing as car has been broken into with them…screwdriver driven under to right the whole door lock out…so whats the point…
Paranoid or cautious…debatable…but my last car broken into they were there to steal it but the above stopped them in there tracks…
Thinking of rigging up some razor blades on…[Read more]

I already have battery relocated with kill switch to it,then someother things that need to b pushed in specific sequence to start the engine + 2x club locks (front, rear of the steering wheel) and a clutch/brake pedal lock.
My stuff above is that a good start

So a kill switch and car alarm (tilt sensor, immobilizer, hazard lights/horn sounding) would be a better choice ???
Plates behind the locks to prevent a screwdriver from digging out the locks ???
