An update to this, put a new fuel pump in and it seems to be starting a lot easier and running a lot better now, also fixed a couple of small things ive noticed since owning the car so must have been on its way out for a while now. Also noticing better fuel economy going off what the dash says since changing the pump so thats a bonus

So does that car wash foamy thingy work?

Its good for removing dust from sitting around for a while, but if the cars too dirty it still needs to be hand washed. It does soften the built up dirt and bug crap tho which makes hand washing easier and supposedly helps reduce swirl marks

Looks good mate. That’s same spot I put my amp. IMO will look a lot nicer without those headlight covers. Possibly add some altezza lights.

Thanks, I dont mind the covers but I wish they fitted better, I was going to get some altezza headlights and probably still will when I respray this.

Did the same with my amp and sub too. A lot of people thought because I mounted it upside down under the parcel shelf that it would over heat. But it’s still working fine. The VS is looking good mate.

Yeah I had heard that about the amp but it seems to be fine, I spaced it out slightly so the underside wasn’t touching. Thanks mate, always liked your VR

Air con is now gassed up and working. Also put a sub and amp in, have mounted the amp on under the parcel shelf in the boot and the sub is just tucked at the back, still need to secure it properly tho. Have been driving this everyday for about a week. Went to a meet last friday night and had a pic taken before it got covered in bugs..

Doesn’t scrub up too bad for a car which is covered in stone chips and hasn’t been polished in 3 years..

Started it this morning and it smelt a bit like fuel after so it probably is a leaking injector? A better battery seems to also have helped.

Thanks, doesn’t use any coolant and the intake gaskets were done just before I got the car so I think those would be fine, might try and swap the fuel rail over and see if that fixes the problem

Gave the car a wash and used the snow foam thing on it which I got for Christmas. Also finally put the a/c pully and belt on so I can go get the air con gassed up.

Went on cruise for charity a couple of weeks ago, wasn’t a bad day just the location of the start point was a bit crap. Also noticed the roof lining has now started falling down so that needs to be fixed soon

Are those foam seals for house doors??? Because i just did some at home before winter and pretty sure they were the same brand??? Also looks the same. Looking good though.

Yeah they are, seem to do the job well enough

Really gotta try and get us VR/S guys from SA on here to meet up some time…

Would be good to get a few nice ones together

Got some chrome inner and polished outer handles for this. I also repainted the outer surrounds as the originals were looking very average.

While I had the doors apart I also replaced the foam seals on the vents

The one in my daily still seems to be fine, hasnt gone yellow and has been in there for a while now. I dont think mine have the yellow mark but can have a look in the morning. Only thing is id use the original cap as the one that comes with it keeps popping off because it doesnt clip down like the original ones

How did you work out the hole locations and seal it? did you end up having to do anything for access on the inside?

Thanks, I actually just bought another boot lid with the lip already fitted and put that on the car

drove to victor harbour a few weeks ago and cruised around up there with some friends, took a pic on the drive home, was a good day. Back looks high because the front was parked in a low spot…

I have there 343mm kit. I’m happy with it. Could do with better pads tho. However the owner is doopey mother fucker and I hope he chokes on a chicken bone

Took the words out of my mouth Cav, i bought the 298mm kit and had to chase them for 2 weeks and still got the wrong parts. That being said once it was all fixed they are good value. Yet somehow he is still in business [/quote]

    Thats good to know…

Gotta say my Willwoods were perfect. Easy to deal with, no hassles, awesome brakes.

I think willwoods would be a bit overkill for my car haha

Has anyone had any experience with the UPC kits off ebay, or am I better off staying away from them?

As much as I love pouring over big $$ builds, I have to admit I prefer these ‘nuts and bolts’ builds where the guy gets in there and does it all himself. It inspires all off us and confirms we can all make our car our own. Fantastic effort and work mate. I love it..!!!

Thanks mate, is that your HR in the profile pic?

Ha ha. Is it just me or when you pull things out you end up with a heap of screws leftover???? Okay a heap was exaggerating but over the few times of doing things ive found bits and pieces and now pretty sure ive nearly got a jar full. Ha ha. That is from other cars too though. Ha ha.

Yeah always a couple left over, ive got a whole jar full of spares from a car I wrecked which comes in handy when I misplace screws
