I love all your builds and the stories that go with them especially how the Monaro LE is going.

But why is that your is the only thread that when I click on the latest post it goes to post #1.

All the other threads on here go straight to the latest post.

For the reasons you guys have been mentioning is the reason I left my HSV luxury springs in but fitted Koni Yellows for better control but maintaining good ride.

I also fitted Larger sway bars F&R 30/18mm to control sway and this did not contribute to a harsher ride as some people say.

I think the people that say sway bars make the car ride stiffer are most probably already running on lowered suspension (lower than FE2).

    Clever thinking Sands.

Those Pedders look so flimsy in comparison.

This, E38’s are a whiny bitch at the best of times, takes very little for them to chuck a wobbly!

I’ve heard the same about the E38 ecu glad the VZ LS2 HSV’s used the slightly bigger and been told better E40 ecu.

Funny how the LS2 in the VE used the E38 same as all other VE’s

:good: Interesting, what size tyres are you looking to run on the rear.

After all this work maybe a 275 or bigger for more traction, not the 245’s you ran before.

275 fit with the std suspension and right offset. :-)

No not Tempe. Same place I got my FR’s from. I got a good deal. RRP is over $5500

Well don’t keep us in suspence or is it a secret deal.

:good: Thanks for the thumbs up fellas.  :-)

Hey LOW-57L, no plans, its an every day driver so things just evolve.

I’m pretty happy with how it is now, the brakes were the only thing in recent memory that I always wanted to upgrade. Not that there is anything wrong the AP4 brakes it originally had but always wanted the bigger AP6 setup.

Its good to see the final product being used as per expectations.

I’m sure you’ll have plenty fun with this car for a long time.

Its one thing to build a track car but a dirt car is so much more fun, Enjoy.

What about using a real dark strip of window tint across the top on the inside.

At least then you’ll still be able to see through it just.

If you can get a little bit of load onto the 0 load axle (tap the brakes or pull the handbrake) they will load up enough to lock up and drive both axles..
I agree but I’ve been stuck on wet frosty grass and could not get any where (old holden LSD) and so was my smart alec mate in his old VZ ute with true trac who was laughing at me going nowhere before he tried.
We both had to get pulled across the grass by the land owners tractor.
My mate now has a new VF Clubby W507 and is seriously considering the wavetrac if its the same as the VE one.
As I said its not for every one I just decided thats the way I wanted to go and the few of us on these forums that have them love them.
But the majority on here would get all they need from the cheapest Eaton true trac, Cheaper than replacing the original LSD centre.

The wavetrac is about $400 dearer than the similar cased Harrop true trac so a lot dearer than the cast Eaton version.

But it was how it puts its ower down is what I wanted most.

Yes at the drags in the dry there would probably be no difference in how the wavtrac and truetracs power down.

The main difference is in slippery situautions like mud or wet grass where the wavetrac maintains drive to both wheels at all times and these are situations that I find my self a few times a year.

I’m not saying they are for everyone but it is what I want out of my car that matters to me so I’m more than happy with the outcome.

Drive in drive out, Wavetrac supplied and  fitted with a complete overhaul new bearings etc and lapping of original 3.46 gears was $2900.

I’ve already tried 3.73 gears previously for about a year but as my cam/head combo is more about low to mid power I found the 3.73 too short for every day driving plus highway use.

Difference between true trac and wavetrac or warranty.

Firstly Wavetrac warranty is lifetime even if street legal racing, drag or circuit, providing right oil is in diff.

As for the difference better off reading this:

Nice, neat and tidy looks great with the HSV rims, dresses it up a bit more.

    Hi Jaba

Car still looking good like always.

Ive just ordered a wavetrac centre for my diff, better than True trac in wet and on muddy tracks  I sometimes use, so will let you know how it goes.

BTW don’t forget there are 2 different true tracs the lower strength Eaton and the high strength Harrop versions
