Thats highly unusual for the carbon to come off in large quantities that easily. I have have a small amount come off doing a rear main on a 308 engine with heads on but i only noticed by a tiny amount of carbon made its way to a port where i could see it. It never actually effected the engine turning over.  Is there definately no way and cleaner product or anything of the like could have made its way into the engine during what you have been doing?

Achillies arent bad for the money at all. Either is goodride/westlake. Ive used both and wet or dry have been great. Even the cheaper brands usually have multiple compounds in common sizes too i know goodride has a softer and hard compound in almost every size they produce as far as passenger based tyres go. They even do semi slicks now but ive got zero experience with cheapo performance based tyres that may be a whole another story

Just thought i’d share a little something i worked out for anybody running th400 with starter relocation kit and tuff mounts regarding tailshafts. Driveline services australia do a th400 yoke to suit a 1310 uni that is a bit longer than standard stubby th400 yoke and will work safely with the 500mm front tailshaft piece from an auto sedan. Can get a conversion uni joint from 21r holden type to 1310 uni and your golden. The 500 im referring too is measured from centre bearing mount to centre of front uni joint. I assume this is relevent for vl-vs but best to check

What throttles bodies are on this if you dont mind me asking? I have a very similar engine combo and have been looking at this intake setup myself but just cant decide what throttle bodies to settle on.
