The earlier dash in your model is a little more fiddly then vr onwards. Just take careful not of where the harness sits as you take it out and you will be fine. If you put the harness in a poor position the dash pad can sit out of position
May 10, 2016 at 6:49 am #16730The high mount air con kit is needed unless you want to make your own brackets and mod a smaller unit like an astra one which ive seen fitted in factory postion before. Although the high mount alternator kit from crs you listed isnt needed its pretty tight but factory ls1 stuff is fine for that.
May 6, 2016 at 8:02 pm #16628In vn the steering joint for the column to rack is extremely close to the extractors. Its a bit tighter then the type on vr onwards. Thats something to keep in mind careful allignment is needed of the engine mounts
April 9, 2016 at 6:52 am #15470Just a pic with a bit more perspective then what i could get in the shop. This is just before loading it onto the trailer to get it home.
April 7, 2016 at 8:37 am #15461Not a whole lot has happened lately been busy with buying a house and starting the move etc. Did have the oil pump shit itself so replaced with a high volume mellings pump. All good pressure now 55psi on start up. Did finally get the thing out of the shop though and home. People cominh out of everywhere with the thing running straight out of extractors. Has a major tune issue on standard mafless tune though. Can not work itself out air fuel wise. Has much larger injectors and the manifold too a simple slight touch of throttle and revs pick up too sharply and take quite a while to settle down. Made loading on the trailer a deadly experience so ending up winching the last half of getting it on there. Anybody done any tuning or setting up of these manifolds before?

March 24, 2016 at 8:29 pm #15206I always have people asking me “is that gun metal grey?” Its like that is the only thing people can fathom when they see grey..
February 28, 2016 at 1:53 pm #14648Well there ya go. Always learning when your playing with cars i guess. I just assumed with the reform to engineering certification it would just end up in the too hard basket. Good to know though i am considering putting this thing back on the street sometime in the future so i can cruise with the wife and my lil girl.
February 27, 2016 at 5:46 am #14612Its not a legal requirement here to do a cell in the boot. If anything it can be a hassle for a street car rego wise having it there can cause a few legal/defect issues. Alot of the time its either a looks thing or simply a layout thing.
February 26, 2016 at 6:02 am #14582So not alot has happened really lately. Between work and buying a house ive been pretty busy. Have decided its getting a console and plastic trims etc back in it again its just too ugly without it and cut a big hole in the bonnet so that can finally go again too.
February 20, 2016 at 5:59 pm #14312Loving the diy attitude with the rotisserie keep it up. There are a few blokes on here thst have done the ls route in 1st snd 2nd gens so anything you get unsure on just ask im sure between us all you will get some options.

Thanks for the comments guys. The manifold was pretty much just a i’m here to party statement haha. My throttle bodies are just aeroflow ones. Unsure how good they are havent had time to finish off the lil things so i can fire it with this setup yet.

February 16, 2016 at 6:15 am #14165Aparantly there is a guy on the vn ss club site thats running a 28 inch slick on a srandard rear wheelwell but ive been searching through and can not find any width on that. Nor can i find any pics to actually show the rear tubs which i beloeve would at least need a mini tub to fit the width of a more common 28″ inch size. It does look damn tight diametre wise though
February 15, 2016 at 10:03 pm #14161Must of gave it a good nudge . Pretty easy job with the right gear im sure it was hassle free with the way your shed is kitted out

February 13, 2016 at 6:23 pm #14101When i do them at work i use the engine brace up too and just undo the rack from column and the p/s hoses etc that are attached and let the k frame just hang down on the control arms, it doesnt take too long. I dont think you can do it taking any less off
February 11, 2016 at 6:50 pm #14029I personally think thats a great idea. Im sure there are plenty of custom pieces you could do that are going to apeal to more then just the person with the original request. Maybe worth posting up a general idea of the proposed product on here and the facebook page to gauge the interest and costings for original request/costings for those who may want that piece aswell. Im sure there is a more streamed lined way to get the numbers without wasting lots of time. This will definately take off and cover the costs if parts suit a few people each time
February 10, 2016 at 8:06 pm #13990I sense the biginning of a side business with lots of custom orders
February 10, 2016 at 5:41 am #13954Thats a good attitude to have when your stuck in the monotonous stages of just pushing on. Even dialed right down the first drive will make you forget those long nights. Great work in this one
February 9, 2016 at 5:45 pm #13940Now that has some serious potential for some cool custom car related bits. Definately following this
February 9, 2016 at 4:53 pm #13938<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hopefully its fun and decently reliable. Kept it fairly basic so shouldnt be too bad. First time.ive put anything ive built up on a forum really so i will try remember to take pics along the way. Ive got some older ones of previous engine combos and some sneaky fun ones but thats bout it.</p>
