    Been a while between posts

Long story short. K frame spacers out, blower hits bonnet results in 2.5″ sheet metal reverse cowl. On the plus side, no more bump steer.

Fitted forced induction ls1 spacer plates and thermal blanket under intercooler, redid w2a hoses and resi.

Dyno touch up tune resulted in 361.9rwkw on 10psi and IAT under 60* at WOT

So far all has been well

Have the the FI LS1 spacers and thermal blanket to fit in the next few weeks. Hopefully they work as good as they do on an LSA. 2 people i know currently running them say yes there temps are under 60* so thats promising.

Also have the 102 Nick Williams DBW tb to fit

Also going to relocate the battery to the tray.

Picked up a pair of 243 heads to use on a later date. Looking into building a forged LS1 motor.

Still trying to find a TH400 case to build up.

    Cheers 🍺🍺

I wouldn’t bother with the insulation plates. All the yanks seem to think they are a waste of cash.

That may be true but remember, they also elected Trump to be president lmao

Ill take any advantage i can get to help with thermal efficiency and drop temps. Id like to make as much power and be as efficient as possible without the need of an interchiller. To me a TH400 will be needed more then an interchiller.

Im still months away before i order a pump lol. Cheers for offer thou

Apart from that its scary fun to drive lol

And that is what we all want

    Indeed

Nice work mate. 100% go with a Reprogrammed EMP. You wont buy a better pump. If its something you keen on, i can get them from a mate of mine in USA. They are around $650-700 depending on the AUD. That’s what i’m using along with a boot mounted ice tank. You will find with a better pump and reservoir you will be able to go back up to to the smaller pulley.

At this point in time I havnt 100% made my mind up yet as to what pump. Looking also at the Varimax PWM pump. Both it at the EMP pump perform well, it comes down to how much want to spend lol

Little something I drew up. Nothings final yet as to what size capacity the tank will be. All hoses to be made in 10an and 12an with minimal to no rubber hose used.

Tight area to work in but my goal at the end is to be able to put the cover on and still use the tub as a ute….. not that I ever have used it as a ute but it does provide free accommodation if I choose to swag it in the back lol

Stolen from someone else but pretty much will be doing the same when whipple comes off. 10mm spacers and put some heat shield on bottom of intercooler plate. Have also talked to engineer about have the cowl engineered as well as my coilovers, so there is less to change over god forbid I get defected. End goal in I don’t know how many years time is to be 100% street legal on pump 98 fuel

    Cheers gents

So have been working on and out the little issues that still bug me.

Originally was supplied from yella terra with a 67mm pulley which resulted in 16psi on an upgraded spring only engine, which resulted in excessively high intake temps (85 – 105*). Was advised by tuner to look into a bigger electric pump for w2a. Did that and touch up tune….. made no difference. So after a few lenghty conversations with people i decided to drop the psi. A 77mm (10psi) pulley was ordered. Touch up tune proved successful and made the same power as it did on 16psi, was more consistent and temps were down dramatically.

Now with the tuner giving it a clean bill of health have been looking into getting a custom reservoir made to sit in the fuel tank cavity and use either a VF GTS or Stewert EMP pump. Have also have a conversation with Forced Induction Interchillers and they have said they will be releasing 10mm cathedral port blower spacer plates in the near future.

This will now result in a reverse cowl being needed as pulley and snout will hit the bonnet.

Apart from that its scary fun to drive lol

Yea agree Cav, cant wait to be in the engine dyno room and listening to it spinning around at 7,000 rpm SSZ666, pretty much the issue with the engine was I sold the incorrect wide spray pattern injectors from the get go, that led to un-atomised fuel washing down the bores, so it didn’t bed the rings in, causing excessive blow by, leading to contamination in the oil, and excessive wear etc. I also don’t think it was machined/assembled properly from the start, but I am not sure I could prove that. Luckily I pulled it before it let go in a big way.

    Damn !!

So without reading back X amount of pages, how’d the motor get hurt to warrent a rebuild ??

And yes very satisfying to build something with your own hands, makes you appreciate it just that much more. Im hoping to do the same with my motor when the time comes :)

    Other thread deleted mate

    Looking good Ricky.

    Thank you and cheers Nick

So been tinkering. One thing tuner picked up on dyno was my intake temps were ridiculously high. The culprit was the W2A pump not flowing enough. They said a standard LSA pump flows more where as yours is like and I quote “an old man with a prostate problem trying to piss”

Out came the 13lpm pump in exchange for a 25lpm pump

Temps are down approx. 20-30 degrees depending on how drive lol. Another thing they suggested was make a separate tank that can hold 10L+ to help with the heat and put in another pump. Seeing as don’t have AC and don’t want to spend 3g on an interchiller setup, its something to look into later on. The current setup is holding just over 3L.

Also went down to U Pull It with a mate and we sourced an astra pump to go on later. Have since cleaned and bought the pump fittings.

One thing that has annoyed me the entire time when opened the bonnet was just how ugly the intake pipe yella terra supplied in the kit. Always said one day it would be remade…… and that day came. Much neater, lighter and doesn’t hit or rest on anything. Cheers to my mate Chris who welded the pipe together.

Got it back tonight from being ceramic coated in and out. Chucked on a new black aero flow pod, turned the fresh air breather pipe on the drivers rocker cover 180*, remade the fresh air hose run behind the blower to a  90* pushlock fitting on the intake pipe.

And lastly another little idea mate and I are playing around with. Ill drop a hint pic lol

    Cheers

    Very tidy mate, nice rig.

    Nice set up.

    Cheers gents.

Now that ute is mobile the tidying up can begin. Got a few small things on the go atm. Then before rego runs out in april will get the tune touched up. Hoping to crack the magic 500rwhp 🤞

Im guessing by the lack of tow bar you havent towed with it yet, but if you just bolt it on/off what does it tow like? Im thinking of selling my Landcruiser/daily driver and buy a 06 VZ SS to become my new tow car/ daily driver. Car is looking good too, plus spending money in the right places

Haha yeah its a fair kick to the sack aye when you gotta penny count every decision.

Nah no bar on the ss yet but assume it should be ok for towing locally to tracks/strip etc. But interstate might be a different story

I finally sold them shitty looking advanti rims which put a little coin in my pocket

Picked up some 1 3/4″ pacemaker 4>1’s for $300 in very good condition. Will eventually get them HPC coated and bolted on.

So with the house renovations almost over the nightmares almost over. Splashed out on a new set of big bores for the blue beast. With my mate from pedders we trying to work out a date we can get her in and front to back rebush everything and some new front struts. Also got a few things to order for the ute aswell :)
