Posts: 55nah i havnt atm as the build has been a bit of a messy affair due to my laziness and lack of enthusiasm at times and not havin a camera for most of what ive done dont get me wrong i havnt lost interest ive been grabbin parts when i can an they are piling up lol
its not much to look at tho atm and its not a show quality build
from the outside its a white sl turbo with a cooler and long range tank sittin super low on sum old 17s
it has all new bushes and suspension in it and i have all new brakes stock rear and vn group a 330mm discs an nissan gtst 4 spots up from with a rbs vt master booster an braided lines to go on when i get my new simmons fr17s
engine was rebuilt in early 2000s sumtime by previous owner with a large hybrid cooler t3/t4 hiflow and turbo back 3 inch exhaust
atm there is no interior in it as i rewired all teh elctrics and have yet to put new steering column in which i will when i replace the manual steering rack with my other manual rack thats in better nick
still need to get some roadworthy front seats and some other bits an peices to get it to a complete car then i can start repairing a few rust spots here n there with some plates and do a bit of upgrading customising and bling on stuff
car is more of a when i got time an money toy with no deadlines and it will be done when its done attitude

Posts: 55so id been hearing that holden wired the subs in the premium sound system reverse polarity and basicly left the gain at nuthin on the amp
the sound from the subs was a dull farty hey lets vibrate an make noise sound so today while i was puttin me led brake lights in i took the dodgy route and pulled the amp and cut the wires to subs reversing them an turning the gain up an what do u know they sound way better for what they are a much clearer crisper sound with more punch an bellow
not gunna get em sounding any better for a pair of 50w rms 8 inch free air subs running off this tiny 40w rms amp but it will do until i decide whether im going to chuck my good system in or replace the head unit with a custom or alpine job that keeps the hvac and canbus stuff workin for the top screen an steering wheel controlsso im not quite sure what year models this effects for ve with premium sound but if anyone has 1 an isnt game enough to cut the wires the amp is in the boot infront of the battery try turning the gain halfway to the right dont go all the way else things might go boom

Posts: 55slim line black on white plates look much better than the old black on yellow nuthin fancy just stock whatever the rta had there to hand out
replaced ac an drive belt today as they were both past their use by date
found the idle pully on ac is basicly rooted and the top pully for the drive belt is a bit stiff so replacing those as well
finally got to look at the front end and its a good thing im sorting out struts strut tops an swaybar bushes cause those have all basicly had the dick
struts arent to bad but the tops have had it an teh sway bar bushes are like throwing a bowling ball into a tunnel
got the sports foot rest ready to go in and a new switch for the glovebox light and organising a spare flip key so have delayed the wheels an fitting the brembos until ive got all the small things sorted out with the money i have left atm

Posts: 55hehehe me too ive gotta get it over to my mates workshop to see if its tuned he seems to think it has a cam and a tune as well but that wont be till after new years sometime as hes flatout till end of january at least
aside from the things ive listed there im thinking i might get one of those alloy engine bay dress up kits for a couple of hundred and paint the engine cover as much as id like to do sum rocker covers and fuel rails braided lines etc i really need to get sum audio sorted for it as the factory stuff just isnt up to the standard im used to
also going to get it up on the stands and check an prolly replace tail shaft couplings an center bearing and any suspension bushes whack on sum bigger sway bars and a large tranny cooler
that brings me to the limit of my budget for this car atm so ill have to be saving up again an just enjoy the drive while i get back into gettin the rest of the parts i need and puttin all the parts i have collected onto my 88 vl turbo bt1 resto thats been rather negelected for the last 18 months or so

Posts: 55yeh cool id read that thread but missed u mentioning the master an lines
nah i dont want to go bigger than 330 i want to stick with 17s and the twin pistons on the vs im up for sum new front discs soon and was thinking about filling the space up with the larger discs
wrapping the bonnet is a good idea but yeh prolly cost around the same for a decent brand material an gettin sum1 to do it for ya
welp as i said before if the track has ur interest and ur interest is growing then thats where id be investing my money as long as ur prepared to keep up with it and get ur moneys worth but just remember racing costs more money than ur expecting to layout and before u know it ur car is a track car and u have a nice shiney tow car and trailer lol

Posts: 55yeh the only shiny parts on my vs are the bottom halves of the doors haha my bars have no shine at all but at least urs isnt red
if u can polish a shine on the rest of the car maybe a quick rub back and a hit with sum satin black could be a cheap fix for the bonnet for the time being as a panther paint job is gunna be a complete job for a nice finish
what master/booster are u running? and have u got braided lines? i have vt brakes up front no abs with a vt master on the vs and am thinking about goin up to 330mm discs and braided lines up front
i have 330mm with nissan r33gtst 4 piston calipers braided lines and an rbs vt master/booster on my vl turbo and this seems to be a good combo although im not goin to be doin any racing with it
“vl is my money pit the vs is a toy i throw money at now an then lol”

1990-29y = single tone with indigo blue interior
2j011-d = mercury silver
if it were shadow tone the 1990 shud be 4005 i think or the paint line could have paint/paint
maybe its been resprayed? or the tags not original to the car?
