Ima start a non-car nonsense thread…
The rule is that your posts can only be 3 words long….
If a question is asked in the last post and you are the next person posting, you must answer the question in 3 words… do not ignore a question!!

Yes I admit I’m fussy about which brand I use for the Job as well!
Street, I run ethanol exclusively and a bypass filter takes the water out of the oil completely, plus filters below 20 micron where most harmful crap occurs. So one of these refineries plumbed from the ready-made LS bypass port makes sense with this build.
Also I’m p…[Read more]

Anyone had or is currently running an oil bypass filter that uses toilet paper, like Frantz or Amsoil or Kleenoil or Jack Master on their LS?

First to modify the venerable LS with VVT, and the first to rebuild to maximise the benefits from the combustion properties of ethanol.

Looks great, same place I was thinking.
What did you use exactly, Accusump 3 litre?
What pressure solenoid (I take it is not manual)?
Also what paint thanks?

The hydraulics are a priority on this particular build as it runs high lift AFM collapsible lifters and Oil Control Valve for the Cam Phaser, which dictates critical oil supply.
Also addresses the seemingly typical under-lubrication of the camshaft face and bearings in these engines.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, good value, common sense improvement with no downside, except three litres more oil at change.

Yeah Accusump or Moroso, have an inkling pre-oiling the engine, particularly pressurising the lifters, cam and valvetrain on startup will prove worthwhile insurance.
Seems the weakest link in Gen IV at least is the cam/roller torque friction under 1900rpm.
Looking at three litre 35psi remote solenoid wired to ignition, plumbed at the bypass.
