all the early pics seem to have gone from the original thread . Now its all out did you happen to have a pic of how you actually mounted up the later model cluster to the vs?

Keen to see how you fab everything with the new car. I think it will look better with the coupe profile as well

Could also be running hotter if the mixtures and timing are off.   Not sure if you have looked into either.

With our vh v8 we ran a low temp thermostat as well.

But they do generate a fair bit of heat.

I dont know vn. But vs yeah its an insert that has to be modified into the existing strut its not a direct fit. So if vn is same same as vs then yes.

    Be like this same deal

fitting koni inserts to gm struts guide vn/vz

See how you go with the carb and wiring.

I fitted one of these and it helped a lot as well with warm starting

Tuning is an art, the stupid thing is the max power/torque part is probably one of the easier bits and what most people are interested in (for bragging rights). The cold start, idle (from cold to hot) part throttle applications and all the transitions between those points is where the time is spent getting it right.

exactly my l67 has had huge hours in tuning to get all the stuff sorted you mention makes the biggest difference to the driving experience

… Tune wise he showed me the AFR maps before and after, and quite frankly, I can not believe the amount of money I have paid “tuners” and the absolute crap they have given me.

A tuner took out my engine. There are very few decent tuners despite reputations , thats why im in vic and my tuner is sydney based. Its extremely hard to find a decent tuner. This thing sounds really healthy and im glad someone is taking care of it. Getting the timing and AFR correct rebuild aside will make a huge difference to how it drives, power it makes, how much fuel it uses and engine bay temps

@sands vs: My cousin work there. They do everything for the v8 supercars. Wheels, cranks, rods, cams diff/gearbox internals you name it. I swear by the process. HPSF In Carrum Downs and ask for Heath Goss 03 9775 0898

Thanks mate because im looking at fitting a tru track and as part of it they have to machine down the side of the diff gears. I would prefer to recoat them with something. Carrum downs is so close ill go see them mate thanks for that.

Got my Spicer gears back from HPSF [high performance surface finishing] in Carrum Downs and they came up bloody awesome! I can vouch for this isotropic polish, it really makes the gears go the distance. It reduces the friction and the whine like you wouldn’t believe. but, mainly prelongs the life of the gears Before: After:

Have you done this before or know people that have?

Keen to see what comes of it. Id prefer all new

Im chasing some feedback guys with ls stock ls engines no cams(I assume they are different to a 454 ?). How harsh are they with tuff mounts?

If they are too harsh ill look into fabricating my own.
