Great thinking should keep the temps into the intake down. If it works well enough might even be able to touch up the tune and get more out of it.  Does it get very hot in the bay now?

Its very hard to find a clean vs especially a s2 calais. How much did it sell for if you dont mind me asking?

Have you tried holden, if holden doesnt they can do a dealer stock locate too
