Getting closer…..
Downpipe done
Intercooler pipes done
Gonna notch the floor, (rear passenger side) to tuck the center section of exhaust as high as possible.

Not done much over last couple of weeks, back into it though.
Firewall notched for downpipe, and started building exhaust.
Last section done 4″ up and over the diff, 4″ muffler.

Pretty sure your turbo is about maxed out.
mates forged cast 6.0 wouldn’t make any more than low 400rwkws through a TH400 and 3500 converter with the same turbo (pump gas) going from 12 to 18 psi only netted about 20 kw.
Testing exhaust manifold back pressure pre turbo would tell the story.
But where its at is still gonna be plenty fast,…[Read more]

Good job , That should be a bit of fun with the TH 400.

Not sure what regulations you have to deal with, but have heard of VL radiator support being used.
i chopped mine out and made something from scratch to suit.

Red1m8 replied to the topic help with fitting 9.5 Fr1 simmons on VL in the forum Suspension 9 years, 5 months ago
You could try some poly air bags inside your existing springs, then you can just pump them up when loading up the car.
Got Drag Bags in my VX , work well – just pump them up when required.

245s on 9.5″ rims must be pretty dam stretched…
looks like you need 9″ rims or narrow diff and mini tubb.

I have a mate that is building a tube chassis Monaro with a 640 cu twin turbo Steve Morris engine, will be around 3000hp that will be complied and street legal here in NZ

Red1m8 replied to the topic My VK LS Turbo build in the forum VB – VC – VH – VK – VL 9 years, 5 months ago
Yep, will be 100% street legal, just need a motorsport authority card for the roll cage , and all the other modifications are subject to a cert check which includes a brake performance test.
This car will easily comply

Haha yes,
but this car will be street legal here in NZ, and will need to have wastegate plumbed back to get certed.

Coated the manifolds and crossover with VHT Flameproof paint, baking it on in the BBQ then will apply titanium heat wrap.

I used the “Bel Air” engine mount and starter relocation kit which was designed around the V6 K frame and power steering, it uses V6 mounts which would be fine for an NA build, but I upgraded to V6 billet mounts for added strength.
I believe the V6 power steering rack is not as bulky as the VK/VL rack giving more clearance for headers (not…[Read more]

My clutch never slipped, just went bang .
A two step will produce boost off the line resulting in much more power and load being transmitted through the clutch and drive train especially on sticky tyres.
