I slightly marked the paint on the bonnet cutting the vents (not sure how), and I had actually picked up a couple of stone chips since it was painted, so given the engines out I decided to get Frank to repaint the bonnet. Looks like he has still got his sense of humour

I was just planning to go back to the people I used before who did a great job, Wickes Steve & Sons Pty Ltd, 555 Main North Rd, Gepps Cross 8262 4673. Plan on dropping it to them today at lunchtime.

Just cut the oil filter open, cant find anything untoward in it. So have decided though to pull out the oil cooling system, and filter and lines and flush them all out and clean them thoroughly. Have also decided to strip down the K frame and get it powder coated as when I got everything done, I then had to modify it for sump clearance. Th…[Read more]

Yea I actually think $11.5k for a motor that produces 600 supposedly reliable hp with buckets of torque isn’t that bad at all. But the build quality on this is poor no matter what it cost. Again though just so glad I pulled it when I did. If it had let go i would probably never been able to tell why it did. This way its a relativley ine…[Read more]

I really dont think so Cav, I bought it over 3 years ago, and so much has happened over that time. I think its really poor though, I mean how could the top of the block be that rough, nothing I have done or could do, could cause that. The heads have never been off. It just was never faced properly.

Well gotta say I am less than impressed with the quality of how this thing was originally put together. Seems there’s evidence of fretting between the main caps and the block. There is only one cylinder that’s half decent. Good news is we should get away with a 5 thou hone, but will line bore the mains whilst we are at it make sure its pe…[Read more]

Not sure mate, I have quoted you to make sure its working. But if you have issues let me know and i will see if Georgie can sort it out.
To give you an idea, the Marelli injector cone angle was 50 degrees, whereas the ID’s are like 10 degrees. A massive difference.
This is why its so important

You guys rock. The issue for me is I still have access to pussbucket as I had a subscription, so I can see all images in my thread, so I dont know what you guys can’t if that makes sense. So I guess the million dollar question is, is it permanent, coz if it is that’s awesome.
