Is it easy to adjust yourself or do you have to have one of those scan tool thingys?

Just called them, they think the tarnishing up closer to the heads (the bit you see coincidentally) has been heat effected by the tune and wont most likely come up glossy even if they redo them. What he suggested was just getting the outside redone, which as about half the cost, then they will look literally like new. I reckon I will do that, s…[Read more]

Pretty sure from my poor memory when we did mine the speedo was out a little. The engineer picked it up and wanted it fixed. We did it on the dyno, just ran it up to a known speed and I think he just tweaked something in the ECU to correct it.

Just a trick/tip (you may know already) put a trolley jack under the exhaust down under the car at the end of the headers. Then loosen off the manifold bolts to the head, not completely, but so the aren’t fully tight, also completely loosen two flange bolts between the headers and the main pipes. Then gently raise the end of the headers with th…[Read more]

Yea my experience (in SA) is it comes down to the engineer. Basically if you can convince him that its safe and built properly they will support it. But yep even then the powers that be have the right to say no. I have heard of an engineer over on the east coast recently being picked up for being to lenient, rumor is they are going back and re…[Read more]

Got all the front sub frame back together today, looks nice and schmick again. Got a progress pic of the porting but he has asked not to post them up until he is happy and has finished it. Gave the headers a bit of a clean up, did some internet searching and seems this stuff is the go to get them shiny again but I cant see anywhere in Oz to g…[Read more]

I don’t think so I use Firefox (am now) and don’t have any issues. We did a have a certificate error a couple of weeks back as there was an error with my credit card, but that’s all sorted now. If you still have issues if your able to take a screenshot and post it using explorer Georgie can take a look at it for you.

I just posted in the engine swap section the link to the Code that governs engine swaps, with the weight/capacity etc. Luckily it doesn’t apply yet in SA, hence me legally being able to stick the 7.4 in there.

Thought this might be useful, this is the link to Vehicle Standards Bulletin 14 (VSB 14), National Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification (NCOP)
https://infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx
And this is the weight/capacity chart. Note this hasn’t (yet) been adopted in SA, or I think Tasmania.
