Part me thinks you would be better off going to something fundamentally stronger, but I guess you have the advantage of building yourself, and the satisfaction if it holds together.

Btw in between all that, just sold my beloved 911, and this week take delivery of my new daily

One spotless engine block!! Heavy duty degreaser, karcher wash down, lint free cloth wipe down, air gun final dry, repeat x 6!! Then a light spray of WD40 over all the surfaces and bagged up.  Heading into the city later, so tomorrow should be able to fit the crank and check the ring gaps. Assembly begins! (Finally!!)

Yea so do I.  Will finish the block clean this week end, and get the crank in and fitted, heads cant be too far away…

Spent most of Saturday cleaning the block.  Must have washed, cleaned, rinsed and dried it a dozen times.  Its  bloody clean but still not totally happy as when wiping it with a cloth there is the slightest discoloration.  So had had enough, sprayed it down with WD40, and bagged it up, and will go again this week end.  I want it absolutely spot…[Read more]

Yep sure am!!  Was a great car, only problem was someone else thought they liked it more than me so they stole it.  Back in the day was a bit of a weapon, steel case Toyota 5 speed etc.

At least you know what it was.

Nice!!  They are so cool aren’t they.  One of the reasons I am hanging to get the Senator done is so I can get stuck back into restoring the Kombi.
