I did that on mine, I have a write up with pics in my thread on how I did it.  I used a Dakota Digital unit, and custom fitted it into the console.  In may car (VR) with the glide I made up a new decal to look factory but only having D and L.  I used a manual gear knob and tuned up an adapter to fit it to the ratchet shaft.

Just got a chance to watch the vid, beautiful mate, would love a $ for every time I told my lad when he was learning to race “smooth is fast”  Car looks and sounds awesome, love the steering work, particularly after the bridge  

Top stuff mate, what a weapon.  Gotta be happy with that result.

Got a day off today, thought I would continue operation clean bits, so in that spirit decided to take a break and  give the old girl a sponge bath given she is laid up awaiting her heart transplant.  That paint work still floats my boat

Would be interesting to do a “weight audit”.  Be nice to see what all the mechanicals weigh, I mean I guess you get to a point (maybe you are now) where theres not really anything much else to gain?

Just had a good read of this, never ceases to amaze me how much tech can be in something that on the face of it is so simple.

Thanks, yea for sure it all part of the learning curve.  Yep Clevite, not sure about the 77 part, they are Clevite High performance, I left the selection of parts up to what Brenton wanted.

Given it got a cage and also awd, that’s bloody light.  Be fun to take it down the 1/4 one day, I imagine it would run a good number.

Still kicking myself IJ, its so obvious once I realised, cant believe I did it.  But agree, at least I found it before any harm was done.  And it certainly is not something I will ever do again!!

Main rotating assembly finished!  Actually just a nice fun job.  So took my time, watched a cool video by Mahle on assembling the pistons and they showed a nice little tool they made to insert the circlips for the gudgeons, so made one up on the lathe, cool as, makes it a 2 second job.  Worked through, but then had a hiccup at the end which I wi…[Read more]
