I did consider that, but as you quite rightly say, especially with the priority main on the LSx oiling isn’t an issue. That’s a must on a Holden V8 thought I believe?

Got a couple of hours in yesterday. Upgraded the timing chain set up, so had to remove the old lower sprocket, there’s not a lot of room behind but it needs a deep puller due to the amount of the crank sticking out. My long puller has very chunky claws so took a little while on my bench grinder to modify it but then came off nicely. I think I…[Read more]

Washers are your friend Basically sold wrong injectors, washed the bores, didn’t bed rings in properly, leading to excessive blow by, rebuild required. Its not all bad though, it is an opportunity to make more HP

Well that was fun, Brenton came up and we dialed in the cam, he went through and explained all the steps, like anything there is a bit in it, easy I guess if you know what you are doing. And its spot on perfect. He also went over everything I had done and gave it the tick of approval. Also he dropped off the lifters which look beautiful. Hea…[Read more]

Good stuff, good luck with it. Yea I had to sell one of my kidneys to pay for my PWR radiator set up but its beautiful piece of work. Actually I had to sell my first born child to pay to get it through engineering, but thats another story

I actually just have a single SPAL fan on mine with no shroud and zero over heating issues. It is on a custom PWR rad though.

Went through this discussion back in the SC days Not a huge fan of spending money on things that dont make any engineering or performance difference unless I have too. You really dont end up seeing any of it really with the ITB set up anyway, what you do see the orange offsets the look of the trumpets etc.

And for the record, VHT do a “Chevy Orange” (Hugger orange) hi temp spray can, tried it last night looks like an exact match for the block colour, so hopefully the valley cover comes up nice. (paining is not my strength I can assure you!)

Is your DBW? Is there something funky you could do with how it controls throttle body relative to the pedal?

So spoke to Brenton during the week, he is aiming to get the heads sorted this week end (waiting to hear) and then come up Tuesday night to do some trial fitting and measurements etc. Hanging for that
So thought I would try and knock off “project clean”. Got everything pretty well cleaned and bagged. Spent a while on the grinder with the…[Read more]
