Well slow and steady wins the race, just been slowly putting it all back together over the last couple of nights. Close to all I can do until I get the pushrods (sands vs not sure Brenton has ordered them). Very satisfying slowly and methodically piecing it back together.
The million dollar question is if the rockers with 750 though o…[Read more]

Hi mate, and welcome to the forum. That kind of info is probably more suited to googling or the Just Commdores forum. JC has been around for years and has a ton of info of those kind of issues TThere’sactually alot of members on here who are on both. Cheers Gary

Well finally then day has arrived, Brenton delivered the heads and look fantastic. So we measured the ptv clearance, and there’s heaps, so he measured up for push rods which we will order and should have by the end of the week. So then its me doing the final assy of the heads etc, then get it down on the engine dyno to see what its capable o…[Read more]

Hi all, yes the rust at the front bottom of the windscreen is awful, the worst part of the car, but Rare Spares make a repair section, so I think that’s probably right up there in priority so it doesn’t start rusting out the sills etc. All VL’s seem to go there, but this one is particularly bad. The tailgate isn’t great either but that’s not…[Read more]

Well so this just happened, I just bought this old girl. I have been looking for a quite a while for one. I wanted a really sound, stock VL V8 wagon. I wanted a tow car as my lad is starting karting again, I wanted something I could club register Unfortunately it turned out to nigh on impossible to find, in fact, I really only saw one oth…[Read more]

Yea nah, I want it because its pretty much factory stock, matching numbers, which is what I am after. If anything isn’t original gradually I will find the parts, I just want a nice factory V8 cruiser. And I wanted to be able to club rego it, and I have always liked the VL. I had a nice 5L ex cop VL back in the day, I loved that car :) Btw loo…[Read more]

I pretty much spoke to my engineer before I did anything, mind you it was just going to be a little LS3 upgrade back then… Then after that, I would send him pics and info as I did stuff, sometimes ring him and ask if what I wanted to do was OK. The ABS move was a good example, at first I was going to just delete it but he “preferred” I r…[Read more]

Yea I am looking for a VL Wagon as a tow car. I liked that one but IMO he wants too much. I would prefer a V8 but would also look at a 6 if the price and condition was right. So if anyone has one or knows of one hit me up
