Thanks for the offer. I do have the factory sway bar. Just unsure how to mount it to the coil overs.
And from what i understand, less sway bar in the front compared to rear promotes over steer.
Which is what I’m after. And the coil overs should be generally stiff.
Will see how i go in the morning for time and mounting options.
And will have a look at how many mm my bars are.
August 18, 2016 at 8:35 pm #19120Rear will come next. haha. just bought some bits for the front.
S13 Coil overs and adjustable tops. VS rack ends. VS lower control arms.
Shortened VS caster arms. Modified VS hubs. Nolathane bushes to suit.this
All will be fitted up this Saturday. I’ll try to remember to take photos.
Will just cut a pair of rear springs to match the front height for now.
Then get a wheel alignment.
Also wont be running a front sway bar for now.
Next event is 27th of august. will see how it goes.
July 31, 2016 at 6:31 pm #18818Ive got some from an LS1 Wh, were with 3.07 gears. Would they do?
July 8, 2016 at 8:21 pm #18278Haha yeah. Worst part was that i was only in adelaide for the week for work training. Made going there even worse.
Got one caprice handle in today. Hopefully do the rest tomorrow after work.
EDIT:
All handles are in. also replaced my drivers mirror that had tech screws in it.
Began fitting my trans cooler, Got it bolted up to the bracket and cable tied the lines up. Job for another day when i service the trans.
Any idea why there are factory trans coolers on most v6 vt/whs and not ls1?

July 7, 2016 at 9:47 pm #18251July 3, 2016 at 8:19 pm #18107The thing is, I’m yet to find an actual coil over kit. seems nowhere makes them.
Anything I’ve found is custom one off builds.
Sway bars are also on the list of to do’s after coil overs in the front.
July 2, 2016 at 9:51 pm #18087July 2, 2016 at 9:32 pm #18086I know the threads over a year old. but. silicon spray on the felt runners works well for a quick fix.
July 2, 2016 at 9:30 pm #18085Ive done it. Twice.
Once to a VP Calais. Blue to international Black over cream.
And to my VN grey to black over blue.
Its all just screws. All could be done in a weekend or less.

July 2, 2016 at 5:35 pm #18083I Have a D34 yellowtop. Around 4 years old now. Never had a trouble. My alternator on the other hand is on the way out.
July 2, 2016 at 5:32 pm #18082Not that it will probably matter now.
Chances are your refrigerant has leaked out. Pretty sure commodores dont have sight glasses. So head to somewhere that deals with a/c and get the system recovered if theres any refrigerent remaining. Then vac’d down and checked for leaks.
July 2, 2016 at 1:32 pm #18078Hey, Yeah I’m in SA, Mount Gambier to be exact. A long way from you. but a few guys from Adelaide traveled down for the event.
It’s a motorkhana inspired event, where drifting/smoke is the key. unlike motorkhana.
Ran by South East Motorsport Alliance. https://www.facebook.com/SEMAlliance/?fref=ts
It was the first event of its kind here. So I thought I’d support it. Was great fun. I do need to work on my driving. haha. That event was open to anyone.
$50 for the day. (Entry and AASA license for the day). $30 for passengers.
Future events will be $75 for a Year club membership. $80 for a year AASA license. And $50-$60 per event. They are hoping for 10 events or so a year. (Don’t quote me on the prices though)
Helmet, Fire extinguisher, Wrist to ankle clothing and basic scrutineering required.
Rear end is live axle. so really limited with what can be adjusted. I Know what i want with the front. But the rear is a mystery.
July 1, 2016 at 10:24 pm #18062I had an ecu that was claimed to be for a 286 + Blue tops + Extractors.
Currently don’t have blue tops. That ecu would barely idle, the IAC was wide open and wouldn’t hold constant revs under 4000rpm it would just surge and after that rev high. Runs a lot better with the stock memcal.
would be good if i could tell what cams in it without removing it. It doesn’t idle real smooth.
July 1, 2016 at 5:50 pm #18057Right. I’d like to update my thread more regularly. I miss forums.
Entered a local Driftkhana event. Failed hard, but had fun.
Got my VN running, then found a leaky welch plug. So the engine came out a bit over a week before the event. welch plugs changed and back in. Bought an r31 skyline for the diff gears, swapped them for some 4.11s, fitted them and a spool the weekend before the event. Running a stock ecu, with a cam. Backfires on decel and stalls when you put the clutch in to slow down.
Took my punishment for 4 hours, with no thermostat and thermos on all the time. so i was happy with that. First time I’ve driven it properly in 3 years or so.
Plans now are to work on the suspension a bit. Organising some Lock hubs and adjustable caster arms from showtime customs. S13 coilovers and adjustable tops. Vs Lcas. Nolathane kit. and it should be pretty set in the front.
I’m not 100 percent sure what to do with the rear yet. stiffer springs, good shocks and a re bush i guess?
January 28, 2016 at 5:46 pm #13692Recently decided to steal all the stereo gear out of my other car i haven’t driven for 2 years.
So now Has:
Rockford T1 6.5″ Components up front.
Rockford T1 Coax 6″ in rear doors.
Kenwood 600w 4ch.
Kenwood 1ooow Mono.
Unsure what to do with the parcel shelf holes.
August 29, 2015 at 6:12 pm #8824New one is definitely faster. haha.
Had the calais for 1 year. minus a week.
August 21, 2015 at 6:42 pm #8601Thanks. Changed The rear cradle and Control arms etc to VZ ones for less negative camber and toe adjustment.
Also changed the leaky diff while i was there (new diff twins). and rear shocks.
Done boring things like the rocker cover gaskets and ac belt (now has working aircon)
August 12, 2015 at 9:59 pm #8392Sold! Now have an LS1 WH.
