I thought your xyz coilovers were like my bc’s where height adjustment is independent of the lower spring seat? Basically preload the spring then all height adjustment is done by adjusting the height of the lower mount in relation to coilover body?

I had some leftover sleeper from a retaining wall. Think it’s 200x50mm. Cut through it at 45 degrees with a circular saw and works fine. Full sleeper was only $10. If i need more height i might buy a sleeper at some point and stack two like above. That would give me 100mm between tyre and ground which would be able for things like oil change. When…[Read more]

Already had them is only reason. They were on my daily with 355x32mm 2 piece rotors. For the track though I’d be harder on rotors so idea was to go from US $700 rotor rings (plus freight) to a more economical 330mm HSV rotor which RDA do for around $230. The 355mm rotor is much lighter than the 330mm and will cope with heat much better too but…[Read more]

The brake lines suck but if that were all I’d be happy. The caliper brackets were a massive investment of time and money and were supposedly test fitted before i collected them and was assured they were good. They were just short of $1600 for mounting brackets when they were never supposed to be that much and took months to make. Once they were…[Read more]

Radial mount wrong
Offset wrong
Off-side
Near-side
and then the lines as Ryan posted. Safebrake on ebay say that’s fine and how it should be.

So several severe delays. My custom caliper brackets are ALL wrong. Caliper mounted to far out radially to suit the rotor size, offset to far so caliper body basically rubs on back side of the rotor. Such a pain in the ass. Dropped them off and it was agreed they were no good when i showed him. Now he has to package them and send them off to…[Read more]

Oh yep, sorry. I recalled that screw going further through to the master than yours looked. That angle looks how mine did when i mocked it up with the vt res. I’ve sat my vs reservoir on the master for now but been meaning to pull master back out to drill a new hole.

Thanks. The top of a vt reservoir sits at a fair angle when in a vs so option is to fit a vs reservoir to vt master but need to drill a hole to get the retaining screw in. Incidentally did you know yours isn’t screwed in? Makes me think it’s a vs reservoir to get it level.

What size is the rear bar? When you fitted vt master cylinder did you use VS or VT reservoir? Could you take a pic for me?
Used to hate picking car up to find it didn’t have fitted what had been originally agreed. Now i do it myself which means nothing gets fitted which is why I’m not already on the track :-p.

Yeah same deal with vn group a. Same diameter but different thickness and caliper. Think only vt-vz can run a vented rotor with a stock caliper but thickness is almost same.
I went with solid slotted too.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>VRSenator065 did you flare your lines off car or on car for bias adjuster? What tool did you use for flaring? Borrowed a cheap tool from neighbour but it took quite a few goes to get a decent flare. The die doesn’t locate on the clamp bit very well and flares kept being asymmetrical.</p>

Pretty sure dale bickham did similar but took heaps off the heads and had to cut valve reliefs into pistons. Think it performed okay. He detailed it on the old forum. Put engine in vk in the end and think was in the 10s? Sketchy on exact details but should be able to find it

I think the LS2 benefits from porting but i think the misconception is the LS2 is better just because opening for throttle is larger than ls6.

Can you explain the constantly variable compression? I assume you are talking dynamic compression? Unusual to see someone go down the road of an engine build while retaining DOD/VVT/funky electronics.

Curious to see what you think of rotors. Let us know when you test them with the mu ns400 pads. I ordered my hc800 for front and rear.

Phire aka Gmfan replied to the topic VS Brake Upgrades in the forum Brakes 9 years, 2 months ago
Those look like the updated c4 calipers that pbr used on their upgrade kits. Front pads should be db1353. C5 were the later vt+ hsv performance caliper and C6 were used on some vz models with 320mm rotor.
Have you tested the mu’s yet? I’m going with the HC800 pads. Price is pretty good.

Suspension concept gear looks reasonably good. Camber tops allow a heap of camber/caster. With radius rods shortened 10mm from stock or whatever the instructions suggested and camber tops at max caster i can’t imagine my front bumper staying on. May have to extend the radius rods at bit.
Tiny bit of progress. Car back on the ground with all…[Read more]

Thought there was bit of price difference but maybe i was thinking buying sump and ip baffle vs asr stuff in stock sump.
Yeh at end of the day both should make decent improvement and by overfilling sump too should be fine.
