I’d put a proper adjustable on now. Saves doing it once your strut towers crack and separate like so many others have

Good info about the handbrake rings but bit of a hassle cutting rotors up to get ring back out. Better off doing proper upgrade so no need for the rings.

I had brackets but never attached them. Never had any issues with mine but no burnouts/donuts/drifting etc. They were pretty tight. Think securing the bracket would be more important of you intend on moving headrests up and down so it doesn’t damage the seat. No one ever sat on mine so no danger there.

Where’s the radiator leaking from? Possible electrolysis? Have you checked for stray current?

Original fitting. It’s not just the shape but the collar is far too big to fit so connection doesn’t fit far enough through the bracket to secure it with the C clip thing

Tried to fit rear brake lines today. Supplied wrong ones as replacements for the ones that were too short. :disappointed:

I had considered that but a) that wouldn’t fix radial distance so the pad would still overhang the rotor massively and b) the brackets were fitted to calipers already so side was dictated by bleed nipple.

Yep. Just spoke to him again. This time he returned them to machinist and they’re questioning if he sent different rotors last time. He also never sent a knuckle so they have no way to assemble them. Now he saying he’ll send them a knuckle and they’ll “access” them. For someone in the industry he’s making a lot of bad choices.

IJ you may have misread or i am misunderstanding but custom brackets were $1500 not $6k.

Yeh it got awkward when he told me the bill because they had my two sets of rotors and calipers and with no written quote didn’t feel i could refuse to pay and still get my stuff back. Even he conceded that it was much more than he had expected.

Yeh same problem though with rotor rings really (haven’t looked at exact price of wilwood rings) Whole point was cheap consumables. Stoptech calipers are supposed to be a very good caliper, more rigid than some of the top brand monoblocks so had wanted to use them since i already had them. In hindsight i should have mocked up the vz 350mm rotors…[Read more]

Sorry for the flash. Forgot i didn’t have more pics before i returned them. Machined out of billet. Can see the stud and set screw setup. Btw that gouge in the bracket was like that when they were supplied to me not something i did.

IJ. Quoted $350-$500 per bracket. Ended up being $1500. If original brackets are ruined they’re $600 to replace if i ever want to use my 355mm rotors.
sv89#170 the original rotors are very expensive because they have to be sourced from US and no rotor rings locally fit the stoptech hat so i was adapting them to a locally available rotor so it…[Read more]

Yeh i was pretty disappointed. I was never told it was being subcontracted either. He said because he’s only a small shop it would take him a little while to get it done so i gave him time. I was under impression he was doing it so the ballpark price he gave me would be accurate when it wasn’t even close.

Yep. Took 6 months to make them too. The whole thing has been ridiculous. They said couldn’t find caliper mounting studs to suit so they pulled studs out of old brackets even though they’re essentially a single use item because they use a set screw that deforms the thread. Advice from a stoptech supplier is that my old brackets will be ruined now…[Read more]

So not really anything happening. Still trying to get these brackets sorted. Hoping to hear back tomorrow. Spoke to consumer affairs to see where i stand and was told for major defect the choice between refund/replacement is mine not the suppliers for I’ve made it clear i want to cut my losses and get my money back. Hoping some c5 calipers will…[Read more]
