Yep that is how I understand it works. The vehicle body has to be a build date earlier than the engine block build date.
Your right though, I think everyone has thought about that odd fire V8 note in a later build body like the V2 monaro.

Do you have a couple more to load on ?
I am sure I saw something of yours on FB which was the gauge pod in the VR/VS Commy upper drivers door vent, as well as another for under the stereo with gauge(s) & a phone sized pocket ?
Cheers

Recently fitted a new Solid Lifter Cam & Lifters to a mates 5 litre, with Yella Terra 1.7:1 Platinum Adjustable Roller rockers.
Was very surprised as to how quiet they were once all set up & adjusted correctly. No longer the noisy solids I remembered from days gone by.

Were your pistons forged that you have just taken out ?
If so forged pistons (usually 2618 grade) have very low silicon in them so they will expand a bit when getting up to operating temps, as they start out with at least 4.5 – 6 thou clearance. Also the reason they are noisy when cold is they tend to rock around until the piston crown has…[Read more]

Maybe try joining up to Imgur as I did. But who knows how long that will be around too.
The facebook option I didn’t read it through so can’t remember how.

I am currently rebuilding a T5 from a V6 Commodore to have all new gear ratios (same as V8). So far so good.
I am stuck a little on the speedo drive & driven gears. Currently the rear axle ratio is the stock 3.08 & I want the option to change to 3.45/3.55 rear axle ratio after the new T5 has been in service.
At the moment the Drive Gear on the…[Read more]

I joined Flickr but found it not as user friendly as PB was. I have used Imgur which I am finding better.

Speaking of Linear Racks.
I also owe a VY Ute which I have spent a little on improving the handling / steering. Even with Strut Brace (OEM), Whiteline 30mm Front Sway bar & Pedders Xa Extreme Coilovers all round. I found it felt nervous in the steering at speeds over 145kmh. Not sure if it was a bump steer thing I was feeling or what, just not…[Read more]

I am not a bright spark when it comes to the computer world, but my thinking would say it is something like Photobucket where it would need absolutely massive storage capacity to be able to host a link forever & a day ? Maybe dropping links off after a year or so frees up computer power for FB.

What if you store all your pics on your own FB page & then link to them through that. Will the links still become broken after a period of time I wonder ?

Good progress.
Curious to the size of the two LED lights on the stand in your work area there ?
Thinking I might change mine over to LED’s as the floods I have burn the power when on.
