i’ve got Optima yellow tops in both my cars, the one in my VY is about 5 years old and the car is used Daily.
the one in my VS is about 4 years old, i have a feeling that one on it’s way out though, probably as the car has been parked up for a while

I’ve been putting my VS back together since having it painted as i had the boot replaced and repainted the the boot release solenoid had to be refitted into the new boot lid.
now the problem i’ve got is as soon as you put power to the battery the boot release solenoid (sometimes this happens straight away but sometimes after say a 30 second…[Read more]

I used secondhand carpet tiles. Got enough to do two double sheds for about $400 from memory. There was a guy selling them on Gumtree. He dismantled shops for a living and had heaps of it. Went through it all and got the best ones. I’ll try and find his number, was out Angle Vale way I think.

My dad works at the plant (still does) and it’s a damn shame to see it all just disappear. He has been there for over 25 years, I remember him bringing home a brand new VR SS, VS SS and VS Calais to drive around for a night. Probably what started my love for that particular model I guess. He would always tell me about the new models and changes…[Read more]

i’ve got 2, i have a Alloy Kincrome 1000kg one, but the main one i use is my Kincrome 3500kg one (Steel type), i actually find it fits better under a lowered car, reaches under most jackpoints on the car, where i find the alloy one can be a bit short to get to, normally just out of reach.
cant remember what they cost, were a kincrome dealer at…[Read more]

exec24 replied to the topic [VS] Orig stereo replacement that utilises steering wheel controls? in the forum Car Audio & Electrics 9 years, 2 months ago
my VS doesnt run an airbag so i modified the clockspring from a VS with an Airbag and wired in a VX set of steering wheel control and a ran a PAC audio Adaptor to my Kenwood H/Unit
All Button work apart from the mode Button, the Module doesnt pick that up, but after not have any of them work for years, i can live with that

maybe use a black VY ute one, probally easier to mount too
if your using VS ones i find they always stuff up, particular the type fitted to the rear doors, which is the same type they use on vn-vs utes for the fronts but are instead mounted in the console, i find the springs in the buttons go, my switches were new and s/hand over the years and…[Read more]
