The white one looked so neat.
Noticed (on the white on) you had changed the air box to a VT one and put a MAF sensor on it too. Were you running a Series 3 motor or something?

Yes same for all delco ecu’s vn-vt. Idle reset threshold is 2000rpm so bit over for 5 sec.

Battery just needs disconnecting and that will reset the ecu ,10 min does nothing

    except waste time.

Pretty much as above go all through the gears then go for a drive so it

    re learns everything.

If that doesn’t fix your issue then you have other problems.

Wasn’t sure on the time thing. Thought the ecu might hold power in some way. Didn’t realise that it would reset instantly.

I have to do this IAC relearn procedure when my battery goes flat.

1 Disconnect the battery (about 10mins should do)
2 Reconnect when time has passed.
3 Start the car and instantly rev the car to 3k or around that doesn’t need to be exact. (hold throttle down a bit when starting if you want)
4 Hold it there until you hear the car change the revs by itself.
5 Keep your foot steady until it’s finished and the revs are maintained.
    6 Release the accelerator
7 Then put your foot on the brake and put it into reverse. Let it learn the idle (a few seconds should do it)
8 Then with your foot still on the brake put it into drive. Let it learn the idle (a few seconds should do it)
    9 Shift back into park.
10 Then put the A/C on. Let it learn the idle (a few seconds should do it)

This will complete the idle relearn procedure. Steps 7-10 can be done when you drive it next but I do it straight away because sometimes it won’t learn during a drive.

I posted this engine bay in the cool cars thread. It has now popped up on ebay for sale. Fairly cheap considering the amount of work in that engine bay.

Neat looking Senator. Good too see your restoring it back to factory.

Hi mate they def had air bags. The Senator was based on the Berlina, so air bag, climate air, self leveling suspension, electric windows etc. The clubbies were based on the Exec, so were more basic. But just be aware, back in the VR days you could spec a lot of stuff different. I literally worked for two brothers who each bought VR Senators back in the day (that’s when I fell in love with them) and one ordered his with the rear wing, and one didn’t for example. So there can lots of small option changes. This is the differences in the two steering wheels, I mean its a minor thing, but if you going to the trouble of restoring it would be nice to keep it correct.

I remember seeing a red VR/S HSV at GM Day last year that had a S Pac spoiler on it and the info panel said it was ordered from HSV like that. Wasn’t sure if it was true or not but what you have said make it true I guess.

The fact they rule out the Camaro and Corvette in a way leaves me to believe the Cadillac will come over. Would most likely be called the Commodore SS (keeps the SS badge going and the V8) and hopefully keep the fans happy to some extent. Just my thoughts based on that article and what I have read previously.

Surely they wouldn’t call a 2-door a “commodore”?? would still be awesome to have a LSA powered rwd Cadillac or the like come over though

Probably won’t call it a Commodore but maybe an SS or something similar.  A TTV6 called SV6 and maybe the supercharged V8 called SS,SV8 (revive an old badge) or SSV. Not sure what they would call but just reading between the lines a bit with all the reports and trying to piece it together.

Or I could be completely wrong, lol.

never new you did the interior on this.. Looks tops mate:D

Thanks mate. It was one of the first things I did on this.

Great work. I myself have done a V6 to V8 conversion and it is a lot of hardwork making it look mint…. :) What brand leads / separator are you using? Thanks

Thanks mate. I took my time with it, factory look with subtle differences. The leads I am using are Eagle and the lead separators are the same brand. They are custom made to length to suit the separators. I have keep a copy of the lengths needed of you wanted to go the same way.
