Sometimes when they throw heaps of random codes it means the battery os on it’s way out. My dad’s omega did that and one of the work cars (Ford Fiesta) did it recently.

Seems that is a common things with newer cars these days. If you know someone with a VE swap the battery out to try. No point buying a new one if it isn’t dead.

Tonight after work I found 5mins to fit my over flow bottle. Looks the goods, still trying to work out how to get rid of the dayco writing. Tried lightly sanding and no luck yet. Might be deeper than first thought. Hopefully I’ll find a way to remove. Otherwise not too fussed. Fits great too.

Using Edge 25w 50 in mine. Seems pretty happy although I don’t use it that often.

That is one neat and original looking Calais. They look so good in stock form, maybe a bit lower but awesome otherwise.

Nah, no club thing. I saw that car on facebook, looked awesome. It was for employees to have there cars photographed. My dad had his HQ done a few months ago and when they announced they were doing another one he put his name down so I could get my car done. They will be doing another one next year so he will get my cousins torana for that one.

After nearly 11 months sitting in the shed I got the old girl registered and drove around for most of Saturday. Main reason for registering it was a quick photoshoot at the GMH plant. The main photos were only taken inside one spot in the plant. Haven’t got those photos yet, but here is a couple I took on the way out. Saw a Series 2 Red VF wagon and thought I’d stop and take a photo next to it. Then a quick one outside the main canteen too. So happy I got this opportunity thanks to dad.

After this I went to a mates house in one tree hill and then to another mates workshop in Holden Hill. So it got a bit of a drive and it went well with no issues. Still need to get my speedo fixed and the tuned touched up for the diff gears, but other than than it was great cruising around in it again.

I used secondhand carpet tiles. Got enough to do two double sheds for about $400 from memory. There was a guy selling them on Gumtree. He dismantled shops for a living and had heaps of it. Went through it all and got the best ones. I’ll try and find his number, was out Angle Vale way I think.

My dad works at the plant (still does) and it’s a damn shame to see it all just disappear. He has been there for over 25 years, I remember him bringing home a brand new VR SS, VS SS and VS Calais to drive around for a night. Probably what started my love for that particular model I guess. He would always tell me about the new models and changes they are doing to updates.  But all good things must come to an end. I will be getting one that’s for sure, it will be my first and last new car. Also one I will hang on to for as long as I can.

Pretty certain S3 was Air Flow Meter not map sensor. So it won’t have one on a Series 3.

Looks awesome. Love the look of fresh paint. Now the hard part of not scratching it when putting it together. Who did the paint job?

I  have the Tri-Spokes on mine. Would be fine with a rub but hard hit still might touch.

235/45 17. They mushroom out more than a normal 17 so good for kerb rash protection.
