Well that’s was an interesting day, first chance i have had to get on here, did a brief post on FB.
Had a day off Wednesday so decided to go over the car on the hoist, checked over everything (more on that later) and it all seemed good to go. I did find two of each of the engine mount bolts weren’t fully tight, I reckon that was me fitting the…[Read more]

I was told (not sure it’s true) that the Porsche design philosophy is they only change something if they can make it better. If they can’t they leave it alone. Supposedly its one of the reasons the 911 hasn’t fundamentally changed that much, certainly until the 996 came along anyway.

I guess the Lexcan was a good test mule, although that’s maybe a little harsh on the old girl. But you sort of have been able to trial it first, so that’s got to be a lot of good experience to draw on for this one. Very interested to see how it performs once its up and running

No probs. I am toying with mine, as it sits I have the legal internal system hooked up with the elite catch can. Then I also have a big ass feed from the passenger side rocker cover into a regular catch can that’s relatively hidden. I might just make up a solid cap for it and leave it in the glove box. I think whatever I do the first cop th…[Read more]

Venting to the atmosphere isn’t emissions legal. You can run the set up like factory, where it is taken back into the inlet tract and burnt by the engine, and it won’t be vented and it will work – sort of. The issue is all engines at high revs making power get some blow-by. You will reach a point where the internal system cant keep up. The…[Read more]

I don’t remember if you are running a reverse cowl? Without any venting, if mine is anything to go by the under-bonnet temps will be pretty high anyway whatever you do. It’s a lot of engine in a little bay. It’s one of the reasons I am doing my vented bonnet idea.

Well, the weather forecast looks good, so I reckon its a goer. Given it more thought and I think IJ has a good point. It seems almost every time I give the car to someone something happens or I am not happy. And yes I will 100% agree that the common denominator is me, so maybe I am a big part of the problem!! But anyhow, crazy-busy dealing wit…[Read more]
