Floors are in. Took my time to set the gaps etc as good as I could before welding. I think I have said it before but I think that’s the secret to good welds. Even gap, and both sides level. Also had to remake the area around the bottom of the A-pillar, that wasn’t even close. Actually quite a zenny job, just bopping away to some tunes out…[Read more]

Back onto it today. Would like to get the wheel housing and drivers floor done this weekend, see how I go. Got the repair done on the wheel housing. Used the donor part Cooper kindly gave me. Was actually in pretty good condition, just had some rust on the bottom so made up a repair, turned out pretty neat. Then tacked it in place with tek…[Read more]

Just had a chance to take it out for a decent drive at lunchtime (some benefits in Iso). Prob first good drive since it tried to kill me. Did a plug change first as I hadn’t done that since the dyno runs etc. Started great, let it warm up and just beautiful. Man, I never tire of driving this thing. Really strong lumpy idle, actually rela…[Read more]

Just take a good look at the passenger side where the spare sits. I didn’t and it’s a touch closer to the tyre that the drivers side. Slight love tap with a mallet fixes it though.

Just wondering if there is a different between a VX LS1 and VY LS1 throttle body. In particular, where the cruise control cable connects to the little stud(non traction control car)
The engine, which I’m about to put in my VY Ute was originally from a VX. I’ve bought a VY cruise control module from a VY SS Ute, but the clip on the end of the cab…[Read more]

Builds an AWD LS race car with pretty much everything custom and hand made and is surprised by the size of the project. You crack me up
Whats is your plans with the lights etc, just fitting the standards back in or some sort of dummy panel?

Hi mate, trouble is there are so many variations of what we have done, to my knowledge none of us on here have gone 6L80, although if I was doing mine again I probably would have (mines a built glide). I usually don’t like saying stuff I can’t back up, but I believe the 4l80e, is pretty much a 400, with overdrive, so longer. The tunnel is q…[Read more]
