Mudflaps are only left there to hide the discoloured paint. When I eventually get a chance, they will be removed :-)

    Wheels on :)

Need to get new wheel caps and nut caps to finish them off.

Finally got off my butt and cleaned my ‘good’ rims… they’ve only been caked in brake dust for ohhh about 12 months!

Looking to bolt them onto the new car tomorrow.

FINALLY gave the WH Stato some love.

Replaced the ailing standard front brakes with a set of AP Racing 4-pistons calipers, complete with 330mm HSV rotors and a set of pads I know nothing about.

Kit was cheap as chips to buy through a friend, and came with a braided hose already attached for each caliper – winning.

    Next on the cards is:

New front tyres – yet to pick what; 245/35/19
    Replace both front wheel bearings
Replace radius rod bushes and castor bushes
Replace sway bar links with shortened Nolathane items
Replace front struts with shortened items, along with the Kings SL spring I already have put aside
    Replace sway bar mount bushes
Find a decent strut brace – this ol’ tank needs all the support it can get

Then move onto the rear of the car… was going to get a set of VZ SSZ rear brakes but the rotors are only 2mm thicker than the standard brakes. Going to keep an eye out for a set of HSV rear calipers from a Harrop brake kit instead. Will work out what else needs to be replaced once I have brakes lined up.

You sure that rear seat is from a VZ? Looks like ‘Pewter’ in the photo, which is VT-VX1 … VX2 onwards got ‘Anthracite’ which was a darker, blacker leather.

If you REALLY want a set of seats, I’ve got a full set of leather seats to suit VT-VZ in Pewter, but I’m in WA

Not a HB. It’s an LJ 4 cyl

AH! … but I thought LJ’s had a color-coded metal part between the headlight and the centre grill area? I know LC’s were all one piece.

Edit: I also spy a color coded metal section between the grill and the bumper… still looks like a HB front to me? LC and LJ did not get the color coded bit there.

Work in IT as a Systems Administrator. Have held a range of jobs in the past – pallet stacker at TNT Express, landscape co-ordinator (glorified hole digger) for a local government agency, part-time call center operator (not the kind that calls your house, actually the kind that takes calls from lonely ladies!), property manager for the state housing department (got some stories from that place!!!), and various other IT roles.

Clean as, and has some of the mods I’d also do – Stato dash, cluster upgrade, VT seats, chrome window surrounds, etc.

The HB looks pretty tidy too!

My aim with this originally was to just give it a spray can respray after hitting the rust with the orbital sander, clean it up and drive it till it dies… look where that got me!

I might end up putting this up for swaps in a few months and get another V6 Commodore to bash around in. Love little FWD Econoboxes however I miss having a larger car as a bunky.

In my old VR, I had the same issue with 2 of my windows – turns out the motor that drives the window mechanism was just about dead, purchased a complete set of new window regulators and replaced the lot, nice fast windows again.

Bang for buck, not really as it’s only a little 1.3L donk. It is possible albeit a little expensive to replace the little CG13 with the much more ample SR20, using bits and pieces from the Pulsar. I had considered it, but too much unrequired work was needed.

There are also turbo kits for the 1.3 (in varying stages of kit – ranging from just a bolt on manifold with turbo and the essentials to get it working, right through to full tear-down motor rebuild kits with absolutely everything needed to get stupid power out of the motor), and Nismo also did to a quad-throttle N/A monster which put down a whopping ~150hp @ the front wheels, in a car with a wet kerb weight of 855kg.

There is potential, but it ain’t cheap.

The 17s were way too big for the car, handled like a skittish mountain goat on cocaine. The SSS mags are a good compromise, and my options for decent tyres are almost endless!

Replaced the entire sunroof in the car last night, as the exising one did not wind open to slide back into the roof space – the replacement can/does, however it needs some fettling to get it 100%. Going to strip down the old one to see what part has failed, and possibly refurbish it to refit into my car.

My desire for getting it done was more as a ‘fix the rust, keep it running’ exercise. It’s a great little car, has BULK km’s on the clock but I don’t care, it is a fantastic little run around and keeps me out of trouble. Besides, I’ve only seen 4 or 5 other K11 Super S’ on the road here in WA!

My old wagon on the other hand… spent wayyyyy too much on that!

It has had a fair penny spent on it, far from the $850 purchase price! Engine swap was relatively simple, since it is like for like and I had an entire donor car. While the bay was vacant, the idea of an SR20VE with a VLSD gearbox was tossed around and serious consideration was put into it…

I understand why HTML would be blocked, can be dangerous shit in the wrong hands, however it is just strange how the software is blocking code that it was designed to use itself… stupid software heh :) Thanks for looking into it, hope it is a hiccup that can be overcome with subsequent updates in the future!

Edit: Smileys broken too? Or we got none?

Forum code still broken – image code works, no other code does (lists, bold/strong, etc).

Trying to edit my build thread on the WH Statesman, cannot get any code to work.
