Forgot to say much better with those plates. You sourced a new r8 badge yet? If they can still be bought from Holden I can get it trade price for you.

Summit racing have full size small block chev bbqs for sale. Think they were like $600US

But would be too expensive to ship here.

Factory rockers on mine with the trunnion kit. I use to hit the 7500rpm limiter heaps when doing skids when mine was N/A.

I believe the only real problem with them, is that they don’t have a roller on the tip. So they will wear quicker then aftermarket items.

From memory, I think my tuner said something about being able to have the throttle position activate something which can, but not sure 100% i run both mine 100% so if there is an issue it shuts down without pressure. Saves risking it running on one and not coping well or leaning out.

Has your pump gotten considerably louder whilst running? Mine has done it on two occasions, both when I had half a tank of fuel. But both times after long, hard driving. So not sure if the fuel was really hot, or its a normal thing.

Pretty sure they are. Not sure if the standard computer can control it to turn the second one on when needed.

Happy to be corrected. But I’m sure mine are both constantly on.

Pull the gearbox out and sell it off whilst you’re at it.

Seriously get a glide or t400. My first time racing with the turbo setup, I didn’t build any boost on the line. Just put my foot down and it went, 11.4@127mph with a 1.9s 60′  on only 10psi of boost.

Did the exact same run twice. So consistency is there with an auto also.

The difference between auto to manual is huge. Also get a transbrake and if you don’t break anything, you’ll be running low 10s easy.

A WH Statesmen from S.A ran 10.6@126mph with a standard cube ls1 with GT42 turbo and a 4 speed auto. He was building boost whilst on the line using the handbrake.

I did this to mine as well. Make sure you have a really small set of circlip pliers. As the circlips are bloody small.

Apparently in the USA they were making people pay 9thousand out of court or face up to 200thousand if in court. Dont see how thats justified considering its a 7 dollar higher the missed out on.

I listened to an interview with Michael Wickstrom (Vice president of the company behind Dallas Buyers Club). He said that the media goes looking for the highest numbers they can to get the best sounding stories, because not many people would care if the media tried to scare people saying they could cop a $10 fine. So whilst those numbers may be true. They are nothing to be worried about for 99% of the people.

He said that there were some fines issued that were thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. These were issued to people they found to be distributing the movie and others whilst they did their investigation.

In the end, the amount that will be owed, will be around the cost of a DVD.

245 fits easy on my VY.

Try 255 if you can. I’m just pretty sure it’s a taller tyre.

Be better if you had an electric pump without the pulley. That way you’d have only the balancer and alternator. The alternator would have an adjustable bracket for belt tension.

I thought 255/60/15 would be too tall?

    i just bought M&H 245/55/15

Same diameter as the 235/60. Just a bit wider.

More controlled boost wouldn’t be too bad now with e85. But when it’s getting to 15psi even on a 7psi spring….something isn’t right.

Good to see you on here Tom.

Mines getting tuned for e85 at the moment. Except having trouble keeping the boost down.

Just hope it’s fixed before powercruise. Otherwise I’m stuffed.

    You going to powercruise?

Bit of a set back with the tune. For some reason the wastegate isn’t working properly. Boost is creeping up. Tuner has disconnected the eboost and ran straight off the 7psi spring in the wastegate. Still creeps up to 15psi before he backs off.

Hopefully find out out tomorrow what the problem is.

Wastegate is a brand new turbosmart progate 50.

Hoping it’s not the diaphragm. But that would probably be a more simple fix.

Either that or the cats are blocked. But I don’t see why they would be.

Very nice setup mate! What a sleeper! Will be interesting to see the gains to be had with going e85. Can i ask what was done with the speedo sender unit? did you use a dakota digital vss sensor or something similar? I need to sort out the speedometer side of things in a recent th400 into vy i have done. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks mate. I am keen to see the results.

    Sorry for the late reply.

I bought my gearbox, crossmember and speedo sender unit from Craigs Automatics here in NSW.

Was easy to connect up. Two wires spliced in the original harness.

Best bet would be to call Craigs Autos, if nothing more local.
