Once the transbrake is in I’ll be running full slicks.

    I only….have about 1400nm of torque.

Why do you think it will be faster cava?

    Hey Gary,

What did your gearbox builder say about getting a powerglide and the weight of the car?

What diff gears are you going to run with it and what first gear ratio did you go?

I am only asking because I will be taking my gearbox out soon for a transbrake valve body to be changed over, and I was entertaining the idea about going powerglide first and second gears and having my third gear as a overdrive.

I know yours will make plenty of torque getting it off the line and so will mine off the TBrake. But I’m sure my gearbox builder will probably say the gearing of the t400 will be better suited to heavier cars.

Just letting you know I check this thread everyday. I wish I could comment every time. But I think I am left speechless and wish I could be as skillful as you one day.

Update on the M&H Racemaster drag radial tyres also.

Found that 16psi when hot worked well. Recommended is 16-18psi. I’d say the extra 245 width over the 235 wide Mickeys, works well and also these seem to last longer then the Mickeys.

These tyres were also a fair bit cheaper then M/T when I first bought them.

Racing this Sunday. Hopefully not too busy at WSID, so I can get some good practice runs in and go for the 140mph goal. Or 9.99 time would be good too.

What’s the foam good for? I run E85 in a standard fuel tank.

    New PB.

10.452 @113.08mph. Intercooler pipe blew off and I hit the brakes.

    M&H 245 wide.

Not sure how to rate them over the M/T. Weather has been to cold to compare them to the Mickeys I had during summer.

Ran 10.9 on my second run. Then this one on the third, before being kicked off for no cage.

Heaps of wheel spin on take off, hit the limiter because of it, then shifted early into second, where I hit the limiter again and then hit it again in third.

Still plenty more in it, hopefully make it back next week.

Pretty sure mine was 1730kg with me on the weigh bridge as well. Full weight.

True, but with dyno numbers I can roughly calculate what I expect (read ‘hope’) to run.

Looks like this Wednesday is meant to rain. So slim chance of racing.

The block is probably fine for plenty more HP, but I wanted the power to be all day everyday, without having to worry about when it was going to break.

Good job , That should be a bit of fun with the TH 400.

Yep, unfortunately it is too much fun, very easy to get into trouble lol.

Nice setup. Love the sound. I’m looking at a turbo setup down the track myself.

Turbo is the way to go now. Plenty of businesses making good kits. Also a lot of good technology to help with racing now.

After I get a transbrake my mate wants to throw in a 2-step and a bump box for shits and giggles.

Interesting that they could find your boost problem straight away, when others failed. Any Vids of the dyno runs? Making good power now

Yes interesting. I got stuffed around a fair bit by RP. Who also said that my id1000 injectors would be big enough for E85 when they maxed out very early. They also charged me Injector Dynamic prices for the id1000s when I only got the cheaper Bosch version. I ended up stepping up to 1700cc injectors.

No videos. If there’s a dyno at the next powercruise powerplay, I’ll throw it on and film it.

I’m pretty happy with the power figure, I wanted 500kw or 700hp. But I believe the block is holding it back. So I told Indar to leave it how it is now to be safe.

Finally got my car tuned for E85 at the end of last month.

Couple mates suggested I goto Indar at Bligh Park Mechanical for the tune.

Straight away Indar found the problem with the boost creep. The way that RP set up the hoses to the wastegate was the issue.

    Made 477rwkw @16psi on E85.

Planning to race it on the 17th of this month if the weather is good.

Good job getting into the 10s.

Think my mate Joe spoke to you last Wednesday. How do the 275/50/15 fit. I’ve got a set of 15×8 with 6.5″bs welds already.

Wait…. You mean to tell me in NZ you can legally register a rollcaged VK with a turbo LSX in it??? WTF i’m moving as of right now… Australia officially sucks in this department….

Can get a Vk (Calais, if it makes a difference) with a ls1 and a turbo engineered in NSW.

    Can’t do it with a 6L though.

Lingenfelter vs msd. When I looked it up, one of them was more favoured over the other.

Did you google which one to buy. I looked at them a while ago. 90% of the comments I found preferred one over the other.
