So I wanted to get my T400 built to handle 1000hp+ with a transbrake. Turns out it’s quite costly and not much less then a already built powerglide.

So spontaneous thinking has made me purchase a 1800hp Powerglide from Mikes Transmissions in the US (but through a supplier over here).

So I now have a complete VT-VZ T400 conversion forsale for $3800 delivered (east coast of Aus)

T400. Forward pattern 800hp new seals and gaskets 18/11/15 (have receipt for that and original purchase)

    Speedo sensor

    Crossmember

Torque converter suit turbo/blown 3500 stall

    2 piece tailshaft

    Parts starting to arrive.

Strange 9″ centre with 3.5 gears and lightweight full spool

    Calvert leafs

    Caltracs

    Meziere electric water pump

Adjustable alternator bracket (should look nice with only the balancer and alternator running a belt)

Wilwood rear brakes and 35 spline floater will be here next week and the wheels and Tyres the week after.

Anyone know a good place to get a 9″ diff housing with 3.25″ tubes?

I’m happy that you are enjoying the auto so much. I really hope it stays this way and doesn’t goto manual in the future.

what ball park are u thinking. A mate of mine has hinted his looking.

I want to go turbo eventually. Depends what your asking price is and wether I have the funds I doubt I could afford it atm. Just recently bought a new vf ssv redline, was very close to buy an ase kit but decided to get a new car instead.

I won’t take less than $6500 for it. Will come with everything except for silicone lines and turbo oil feed and drain. Because they depend on how you run the lines.

So full turbo kit including, full exhaust with two pairs of cats to swap over (one fake set), boost controller and 2 step.

I drove mine daily when it was just the stroker with the t400 and 4.11s. Wasn’t too bad.

Tom has already asked Craigs about the 4L80 and I believe Craig said they are no good and a lot of money. He advised to go a gearvendor overdrive unit. But they are too expensive with our dollar atm anyway.

Im going to Craigs tomorrow to drop my box off for a tbrake, if anyone has and questions for me to ask him.

Some big coin dropped into this. Going to be one hell of a ride. Do it once and do it right

    Haha don’t remind me

Yep, and I couldn’t do all this without the support from my girlfriend. I’ve unfortunately cut corners to save money once before, but this time round she keeps pushing me to make the right choices, no matter the cost.

Like the time I said I was buying a front end for it. Kinda went like this.

Me: “I’m going to buy a new tube front end, guess how much”

    Her: “$20,000″

Me:”Jesus, are you insane? more like 1/4 that”

Her:”So why you telling me then?”

What a beautiful looking piece of kit. Awesome.

It is indeed a nice bit of kit. Something like 6 bolts and it all drops out.

Beautiful car mate, nothing beats an early girl with a tough set of welds. What will the car be specd to run by ANDRA, 9.00 and slower ?

Thanks mate. I love the simplicity of it all.

Will be ANDRA tech’d to 8.00 and slower. X275 class is limited to 8.50 and slower. Which in my opinion is plenty for me. 8.50 is like 160mph territory.

Would like to have the car drivable by February next year for Powercruise. Especially if some of the Street Outlaws guys get flown over with their cars.

I’m going a tube front from Castlemaine Rodshop. Basically drop the old front end out and bolt up the new one. Sorts out engine mounts, steering, suspension and brakes in one hit. All whilst dropping a bit of weight.

Have since ordered Race Products 35spl full floaters. Wilwood low profile rear brakes to clear the beadloc rear rims. Strange 9″ diff centre, full spool, 3.5 gears. Caltracs and Calvert leafs.

This one actually has a radio and a single arm rest on the drivers door. It has a full floor rubber mat. But will get the floor recoated then carpet laid down.

I only wanted a shell because I will be replacing just about everything in the end. This one was sold as barely running, but I adjusted the idle and it runs really well.

Haha won’t be cutting the studs when they are about $20 each. They need to be the length they come to meet ANDRA rules anyway.

Cheers guys. So basically have the front end on order, which has another 7 or 8 week wait. Rear wheels will hopefully be here in 2 weeks. Changed the order to a beadloc version of the V-Series because they look better and they’ll also appear larger, to suit the 17″ fronts a little better.

This week I’ll hopefully order the diff centre, Caltracs and Calvert leaf springs. If I can find the money this week, I’ll buy a 35 spline full floater and rear brake kit also.

Did you consider having larger rims fitted to the stock centres to keep the grandpa look? Killer can mate.

I’d really like to be able to keep the stock wheels Gary. But I’m going 5/8 rear studs and they will be too long to keep the hub caps on.

If a 50kw dyno was used for you Gary, how would that go with a boosted car, especially a turbo car. What RPM do they go up to?

The test only goes up to a maximum of 91.2 km/h (no idea why that number btw) and only at light throttle loads, tbh I don’t know what revs but not much. Really doesn’t matter if its na, sc or turbo, lets say it takes 30kw to push a VR along at constant 60km/h, that is all it will need whatever engine is in it if you see what I mean.

What I don’t understand is that, I could drive my car light throttle to 91.2km/h without hitting boost. So therefore wouldn’t it read my engine as a N/A motor, because the turbo is basically doing nothing.

I’ve changed from drive to reverse in a 4L60 at 60km/h and it didn’t do anything. I think the computer must’ve stopped it from changing.

I’ve got a steel jack I bought off eBay. 3000kg lifting capacity and is 75mm-505mm. Twin pump. Long handle with padding. It’s a good jack.
