Can you buy replacement floor panels? I imagine it wouldn’t be too huge a job to do them yourself?

You can buy the replacement steel panels. If I go that way, I’ll do it myself.

Another option I am thinking of is to do the rear half, if not the whole floor in aluminum. Because it’s easier to add weight then remove it later on.

Front passenger. Drivers side is the same.

    Rear passenger.

    Rear drivers.

Most likely cut out the rear half of the car and leave the front.

Dry Ice and remove as much as you can. Will make it noisy but do wonders on the scales. Can you tell me location to money tree hahah Let me know what you think about the master and P Valve. I’m thinking of doing the same.

Got it all off already. Only the front half had it, which looks nearly like new in some spots. But the back didn’t and is rusted pretty bad. I wish there was a money tree I have been selling old car parts and making a bit of money off that lately. Just about dried up that source though. The master cylinder and proportioning valve won’t be here for another 6-8 weeks.

tell me about it. Mines soaking up all my Cashie money. Min gunna have to start pushing shard in the CBD LOL

haha, I bought a new tv the other day. Had cash from selling some old parts. Paid for said tv with approx $3600 cash. Cashier asked why I had that much cash on me. I told them Coke is a big seller this time of year.

My front end from CRS didn’t come with all the bolts either. So annoying because I think the 2 main bolts are imperial.

Pulled the seats and floor covering off today. Front is mint. Had a shit load of the tar-like stuff underneath. The rears however, had nothing. So looks like I’ll be doing a back half of the car.

Holley Dominator EFI ecu, Racepak, Kirkey Pro-street drag seats, Wilwood Mastercylinder and proportioning valve on order.

Yeah of course. I’m hoping to have this as close to the lower limit of 1400kg as I can. Chromoly cage and diff. Fiberglass bonnet. Kirkey Prostreet drag seats for the front.

Yeah definitely worth it in the end. Covers suspension, steering, brakes and engine mounts in one hit.

Its meant to be 150lbs lighter. Which is a big plus as well, because the twin turbo and ls1 setup would probably even it out.

Hopefully your CRS headers fit. I’ve got two mates doing a ls1 into a VL conversion using those size headers and one is having troubles fitting his drivers side and the other having troubles with his passenger side.

In saying that, my front end has arrived from them. So I hope I don’t have any dramas fitting that as well.

Gearbox came without a bellhousing and that’s all I could choose I think. That bellhousing was about $300US plus $80US shipping.

Forgot to mention my CRS tube front end should arrive on Monday.

Also booked in to get a 8.00 second certified chromoly cage, rear end, boot and floor firewall done in February.

Have you heard of that interchiller? Seems to be pretty good for keep intake temps cold.

I like it. But the mounting surface was a bit wavey/warped. It pulled straight when I tightened the bolts. And I’m sure you know the sump gasket is a oring-aluminum plate type deal so I just did it up as tight as I could on the old alloy block.

If if your current sump has two long bolts at the rear of the motor you’ll need to change them to a short one.

One reason why I chose this sump, apart from fitment, is that I have to run a remote filter setup and I’ll be using (forget brand name) a reusable filter. The ones where you can unscrew the top and inspect the filter. Clean it out then reuse it.

FI = best of both worlds

Sure is. Ultimately would have loved to have a turbo, but it was too much cash to get it running and engineered

You’ve practically chosen an off the shelf 9 second package. Pretty damn good to me.

Got a couple of pics of the bottom end this afternoon. Still looks like new.

Fitted up a Moroso sump for the conversion.

Going to give it a lick of paint, then fit up the water pump and alternator. Hopefully have a new manifold very soon as well.

I would be telling be lies if I said I wasn’t raging in my pants right now. assuming this will never see the street

Will definitely be street driven. Ultimate goal would be to do drag challenge.
