Posts: 208Not too much progress to report on the car itself .
I have a new motor now though.
402ci LQ4 with LS3 heads. 10.0:1 comp. Holley hi-ram manifold to suit.
Decided that I wanted to make over 1000hp and turn it down to run mid 8s. So hopefully all that can happen with the new motor.
Picked up some new injectors last week.
Moran 235lb/2400cc billet atomizers. Hopefully big enough to supply copious amounts of methanol and small enough to supply 98 octane pump fuel on the street.
Also started stripping the paint off the doors which is uncovering some rust. Shouldn’t be too hard to fix as I can buy replacement prefab ‘d pieces to suit the exact rust spots.

Posts: 208the 4 pot 320mm Wilwoods would be better then mine. If I can fit 15’s on then I’ll get em. I rather put good money towards better rims then tires.
I have the 320mm Wilwoods on mine. Got them with my front end from the Rodshop. 15″ front runners don’t fit. Which pisses me off because the Rodshop say 15″ wheels fit. When I rang them they said but front runners don’t.
They only hit the caliper by a couple mm.
I’ll either run a small spacer or maybe grind the little bit that touches. I can forcefully spin them by hand.
Also comp engines in Vic sell 17″ front runners for $800-900 last time I checked. Then tyres aren’t to badly priced from them either. Got my 275/60/15 et streets for $300ea.

Posts: 208I spoke to 3 different engineers across 3 states. 2 said “show me where it says you need a dust seal”
its one out of 3 states is Victoria ?? sound like dont need an dust seal to pass for engineers .. haven’t find an engineers for myself.. yea Im still looking for good brakes not like VT twin brake..
Was actually an engineer in NSW that said they needed to have the dust seals.
You can get Wilwoods with dust seals though. My front and rears both have dust seals. Rears also have a built in handbrake into the caliper. Engineered 35 spline full floaters and Wilwoods with a handbrake FTW.

Posts: 208Since its a little Quite on hear at the moment , though i would share a update. Car has just been Fitted with Full Fuel System , Surge Tank , Holley Dominator 1800 Twin Fuel Pump , Turbosmart Regulator , Teflon Braided Lines & Fittings , ID1000cc Injectors Will Hit the Dyno Thursday-Friday for a Full United E85 Tune , so will see what happens!
Russo’s won’t give you the injector dynamic ID1000s. Which are the more expensive ones. They will charge you for them, but you’ll get the Bosch one. Which is nearly half the price.
They did that to me. I paid around $1100 for the 8 “injector dynamics” injectors. To do a bit of research and find that they were the Bosch type which is around $700 for 8
The only difference is, Bosch make them and injector dynamics tweek them a little better. The way to tell the difference is the injector dynamics have a serial number on the side. The Bosch version is marked out.

Posts: 208Looks good mate. If you don’t wrap the manifolds, at least do the dump pipe. When I ran mine on pump98, I use to run mine at Powercruise so hot that the floor would smoke. I never had an issue with the paint.
Good choice with the manifold as well. I’ve chosen to go with one also. I spoke to Jake Bain from Bain racing about runner length and he said the Holley hi ram runner length is pretty much spot on. Basically the perfect length if you can afford to go higher than a standard bonnet.

My mate has a 402ci 13:1cr on e85 with t400 and 5000 stall and tells me he has trouble getting it to hook.

I hope I see some big ass fat tyres on the rear of this one. Either some welds or billet specialties wheels.

Posts: 208Please run an adjustable alternator bracket, so you dont need to run any other pulleys. I bought one from America for mine. But just sold it because I’m now going front and mid engine plates and it wouldn’t fit with that.

Posts: 208VPW is a shit hole. Overpriced and sell fake/cheap products. Then when they fail they don’t give 2 fucks about you.
I only ever use VPW as a reference point because they stock most stuff.
Yeah I usually deal with speed pro but I will contact Zoran as well, how long did it take for them to arrive Michael?
Took a little while. Although they usually stock the alumastars and I ordered v-series. I think it was around a 2 month wait. I’m currently waiting for the fronts which I ordered mid January. They reckon mid March.
Maybe it’ll be possible to get a set on the same container.
