Posts: 208I’ve been told that if you want hpc coated pipes to stay good. You need to get a few heat cycles into them prior to coating. So the colouring from the heat sets in. Then get them coated.
Not if that’s true or not.

Posts: 208The issue isn’t what the dash can read. It’s what the ecu puts out.
MAP, oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage.
Cant think of anything else.

Posts: 208My mate was told he couldn’t engineer a gps speedo due to them losing signal in tunnels.
How many sensors will the racepak read out through the obd2 port? Kinda seems like you’ll be buying a good expensive product to only use a little bit of its potential.

Posts: 208Am thinking I will go this way with the vz constant headache/money muncher. New turbo and setup coming soon after engine bay fire.
What caused the fire? I had a oil line from the turbo feed burst which caused a small fire with my old setup on the VY.

Posts: 208As always happy to be corrected Mick, someone told me it could be but it’d be a non issue for me I’d be going Lexan anyway. I “think”if I cut out the intrusion beams and frames the steel doors will be close to the weight of the fibreglass doors anyway, strip the motors and glass out and end up at the same weight for 1/4 the outlay.
If it can be done, I’d like to know. I would probably save money by going 4 fibreglass doors then getting 4 doors rust repaired.

Posts: 208Okay LS7 rockers then…wanted to know which way you were going. Aluminium or stainless.
My choice would be the stainless for a street car.

Posts: 208What rockers you going to go? I want to use Crower stainless ls3 rockers. Not too keen on the aluminium type for a street car. But I can get the Comp cam aluminium set for about $1500.

And yes I just double checked the lsx454 and it does have 6 bolt heads.

Posts: 208My old N/A 383ci motor use to breathe a bit. When it got stripped down by my engine builder, he said the bores were glazed (pretty sure thats what he called it). He said that the tuner did a shit job of bedding in the rings.
If you get new 6 bolt heads from Higgins. Can you ask him why you need to buy $2000 T&D rockers from him to suit his heads, when you can get them for $1500 anywhere else? haha

Posts: 208Hope the magazine goes too. Biggest waste of money. Half the pages are ads. Articles are barely proof read with countless mistakes and it’s about an 1/8th the thickness of street machine.
