Just a thing to consider, with an engine bay that you actually give a shit about I wouldn’t be spraying ABC in there unless it was the last thing laying around. Its highly corrosive as it chemically reacts with fire forming phosphoric acid and it ruins electronics and why you will never see one in any aircraft.

Would be nice if you could still use Halon (BCF) extinguishers which kill anything and leave zero residue but greenys had to spoil the fun. Next best clean agent is vaporizing liquid/halotron extinguishers, much more expensive but what I would prefer with a larger one mounted in the boot.

Purely what the problem is that it hasn’t had the time spent on it to make it run right

This. Too many tuners tune only for WOT heres your piece of paper thanks for coming. My tuner spent 3 hours on the dyno purely on cold start, driveability, light throttle cruising, decel etc.. Not that big injectors 80lb/hr but will still cold start without touching the throttle idle and drive around like stock. Thats on pump e85 turbo 355 which will see 700hp on full boost. All with a shitty plug in haltech platinum gm.

Yup Gary mufflers usually that thick…

I currently have 120mm ground clearance where the centre muffler would usually go and could probably tuck up a bit tighter too.. So to add a 7″ muffler would only add 1.75″ to the total radius and drop ground clearance to around 80mm. Just measured it all and doesn’t matter because you won’t fit the 15″ long box anyway as it will foul on the inner control arm.

I think I’m gonna put in the longest centre muffler I can fit there and maybe a longer rear muffler that should be enough I think..

This is the exhaust so you can see why it’s so loud lol

Yeah to run one in the middle your car would have to be very high ride height or start chopping some steel and foam out of your rear seat and box it up a bit Iv got 2 3 inch varex muffler on the rear iv got pics on my thread witch is couple done the list in the vs manta build

Yea cheers, i did have a look at yours.. i think id have enough ground clearance with a 7″ round one and the actuator motor mounted sideways not upright but i guess if i cant shut it up ill just replace my rear muffler..

Hmm thanks guys.. bad thing is im running 3.5″ which massively limits muffler selection so was thining about using the 7″ round varex muffler with the actuator mounted sideways where the mid mufflers usually go on the VS.

Its a 355 and all I have atm is turbo into 3.5″ completely straight through all the way to a rear magnaflow resonator, not the best way to avoid unwanted attention on the street.

Also a Civil Engineer, seems to be a couple here! always what I thought I would do back in school. Dads a mechanic so steered me away from that as an occupation and to keep it as a hobby.

How have you found the varex? quality, operation etc? I was thinking about mounting one to act as my centre muffler. I need to shut my exhaust up on the street its idle is probably 90dB lol

Does it make a muffled ‘exhaust leak’ type sound when fully shut? And does it sound bad fully open as opposed to say straight pipe? as some gas would still bounce around the muffler changing the note.
