Gary the xyz coilovers you adjust the height independently to the spring height. The spring is preloaded slightly with the lower spring seat then you can adjust the coilovers to any height with the bottom ring against the shock body!
Pedders explains it pretty well

I didn’t do such a great job of putting a new rear main seal in my ls1!
also managed to mess up the input and overflow nozels on the corvette filter/Reg, even had summit supply a new one free of charge before I realized my mistake felt like such a moron because they are different sizes and I knew which was which to start with!

the Lokka was $449 inc delivery. I’m very happy with it. Unlocks really well even in the wet and very predictable lock up when you get into the power. I did have to adjust my driving style with it but you get used to it. Only problems I’ve come across is axle tramp in a straight line when spinning them up (got a set of stiffer linear spr…[Read more]

So in July I managed to snag myself a QLD Spring Drift Matsuri ticket (which is not always easy, we crashed the QR website 20mins before sales opened)
Spring Matsuri is in 2.5 weeks so I’ve got to start prepping! ill be going over everything to make sure she’s 100% as well as installing the following parts:
– ASR sump baffle & Moroso gasket

I found a few photos of these being used in a VN. If you want to get in contact with the guy running them it’s in the Facebook group https://m.facebook.com/groups/531793363539450
In a convo about using a cvr starter in original spot and running custom pipes.

Here’s a video of 1st-3rd. I’m not slamming them as hard as possible as the top bolt holding the gear stick on was coming loose causing a bit of play and I didn’t want to stuff anything. All fixed now!
The best thing i like about the Ripshift is 2nd-3rd shifts. 3x 1.5hrs of happy laps slamming 2nd-3rd at 6200rpm and I’ve never missed! Can’t sa…[Read more]

Seconded!! very useful information right there!
I’m quite interested in this at the moment after reading this discussion : http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/archive/index.php/t-99931.html
I’m seriously considering going cnc ported ls3 heads decked .020″ and FAST lsxr manifold with the standard ls2 cam for something different. Obviously no…[Read more]

I’ve got the whiteline adjustable 30mm front & 22mm rear sway bars on my vs ute. I’ve got the front bar done up to the second tightest setting and the rear bar on the tightest setting and it’s amazing how much it improved the handling and eliminated the understeer. With approx. 400bhp in a ute and she powers through corners and out of them! I’d…[Read more]

Just came across this discussion with accompanying article about which manifold works the best. It would seem that the stock ls6 manifold trumps a stock ls2 manifold the whole rev range! Quite interesting considering I was always under the impression the ls2 manifold was an upgrade over the ls6 m…[Read more]

I just use zip ties. I’ve also used zip ties as exhaust hangers when my system was out and throwing hangers left, right and centre.
The other one is when the little button on your seat belt that holds the buckle from sliding to the floor goes missing… Few layers of duct tape where you want it to sit and she won’t go to the floor no more.

So I’ve had a bit of a change of plans. I picked up an LS2 crate engine for a great price today. Will have to acquire a few things like extension looms and a cable throttle body and then sell the ls1 but she’ll be going in sooner than later!

VS Hydraulic Pedal Box on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/1088392210
Also you really can’t go wrong with a Ripshifter. Never used Malwoods shifter but he does do quality work.
All I know is a button clutch and Ripshifter is just pure gear snappage!
I’ll grab some video on the weekend of how well they work if you like.

Replaced the heater core today as it had been leaking. Used the cut and shut with heater hose method, was still a PITA.
Just purchased an ASR sump baffle and windage tray kit. Had to purchase a brand new windage tray and get it sent to ASR as they used to do them on a swap over basis but nobody sent them back.
I’ve also been trying to s…[Read more]
